I am having a lonely Christmas day, wife works for a hospital and Christmas for them is just like any other day, she has to work a very long shift today. Told her this morning, if she worked for the government, Christmas and New Years Day, plus the eves are paid holidays, and she could claim she is sick for the three days in between to get a full ten days off including the weekends. She would have to show up to work on January 4th, but hey after ten days off, will take a couple of days to get back into the groove. So don't expect anything until about the 7th. Hey, this is our government that serves us.

They, or I should say my wife's IO misplaced her application causing us a delay, but Feingold got on their tail quick and we received the oath letter 3 hours later via e-mail. Perhaps you don't have a very good senator, if we had to depend on Kolh, would still be waiting.

Hi Amana1,

Sorry to hear about your situation about not getting the oath date, despite passing the interview awhile ago.

Could it also be that your particular local office is busy, and are overall scheduling oaths later than usual, despite anyone's circumstances?

Unfortunately, there isn't much else to do now, other than to wait it out.

But who knows, maybe that "nudge" from the Senator can help in your case as well. Glad you were able to contact them there to help you!

You can also try going to an infopass appointment, which could be more of help to you there too to further inquire about your case from the USCIS.

As well, if it takes too much longer, then you can also try contacting other politicians (congressman, ombudsman, etc.)

and perhaps the media about your case as well.

Hope the wait isn't too much longer for you. You're almost there at the end of you journey. Good luck for you getting your oath soon too.

Ant

Amana - I see you are from Delaware. They do not have oath ceremonies that often. There was one on October 1, and the next one was on December 10th. I wouldn't worry. When I was waiting for my oath letter, I called and they said that if I hadn't had a letter within 90 days of the interview, they could look in to it, but not sooner. My letter arrived near the end of the 90 days window.

You can't judge based on Phillie timelines if you live in Delaware.

The October oath was at the courthouse in Wilmington. The December oath was in Newark near the university.

I can also tell you that there were about 300 people getting their oaths in December and it involved a lot of lining up to register and then to collect the certificate at the end. Not the most efficient set up, but they got it done.
