Hey guys,

we would like to know how important pictures of us together are?We have pics of each other and I have some with Jim and my son but there is not a single one of us together.............

Simply because back in Germany where we met when Jim was stationed there,we never thought of us putting in a I 129.and now that I am here in the States for a three week visit,we really dont have anyone who'd take pics of us.

How much would it be if we'd go to a Wal Mart and get some (family like ones) taken???????????

Thanks for replies

Natasha and Jim

It's helpful to have at least one or two pictures together. They're not required as such, but many people do submit them.

If you don't have pictures, you need to have other evidence that clearly puts you in the same place at the same time. Maybe someone where your fiance was stationed could help you out?

Most modern digital cameras have self timer functions. Use the self timer if you can't find someone to take pictures of the two of you.

Each embassy is different so I can only speak to how Manila handled it. Claudeth took three large albums full of pictures of us and the officer did look at them, not in any detail but thumbed through the albums.

Maybe someone who has gone through your embassy can give you more details.

Good luck :D

For evidence, just go into one of those little booths with a curtain and get some taken. Don't bother about the setting! They have those in Walmart too!

I sent in 5 photos of us together(here in the states & in Ireland). I sent in photos taken over the past two years. I haven't heard anything from them yet so I think someone must have a crush on me or my man :P and has our pics on a desk somewhere(we are such a cute couple).

I would try your best to get some photos, if it is impossible.......I am sure there are other ways you can prove you have met.

I only had one (really bad) picture of us together......was really worried so I also included an affidavit from my friend who was with me when we met. Also had <tons> of evidence for the three additional trips I took to see him <before we filed>.

Didn't have any problems. I think the affidavit really helped in my case -- also, me being present at the interview was a huge help.

I know that many of us have been over and over this issue of photographic evidence. Most members know my standing on it :P Photographic evidence whilst it doesn't hurt to submit and can make a strong package of evidence even stronger. A strong complete picture in the adjudicators mind is what you need to aim for that shows you have met within the required period of 2 years via airline tickets, boarding passes, itineraries, hotel receipts, credit card receipts, etc. Don't make the mistake of thinking and making photographic evidence the primary evidence. And take care in not weighing down the petition with evidence of an ongoing relationship as opposed to a stronger package of evidence of having met in the required 2 year period. Phone bills eg do not count towards evidence of having met.

Have been pouring over a link with miles and miles of appeals that are mostly denied and found many very interesting.

Here's an example

The petitioner states that he has photos to prove he met his fiance prior to filing the petition. However, photographs are not evidence of a personal meeting.

Phonebills and the changing of the phone number have no bearing in your I-129F petition, proof of meeting within the past 2 years does. Your hotel receipt and boarding passes are good for this.

I also submitted hotel receipts, car rental receipts, boarding passes, copy of passport to show travel dates. I don't think pics are that important...........why did I send in 5????? I don't know  but believe me I wish I had kept it much more simple.

Whatever you can show that will prove you have in fact met-that is what they want!!!!

For my 129f for evidence I sent a copy of my passport, it showed I had gone two times to see my fiance. I did not include any pictures of us together, phone bills, or any other evidence.

My petition was approved in less than a week, so I had no problem with them needing any other evidence.

Personally I think the less you send in the faster they could process it just for the fact that they don't have to sit there and look at all the evidence.

Just show that you have met within the last two years and you should be fine.
