What's the phone number for NVC?

The AVR is 24/7 right?

And the operator-hours?

NVC # (603)334-0700

Yes, AVR is 24/7

Ummm I am not sure what the hours are...but it will tell you on the AVR

Good luck!!

We all have our own immigration paths and I'm sorry it seems everyone has such negative experience with lawyers, but I have been nothing but satisfied with ours. Yes, I can read English(obvious I hope), yes I COULD do the process myself. Our case wasn't 100% straight forward and as I said, no regrets with using him, I don't think we could have done the initial applications without him. I see nothing I would have done better myself that he didn't do. He responds to my emails the same day and spent hours explaining our choices to me. After this is done, I'll be happy to give a recommendation for his services if things continue in this manner with him. As I said, my only concern with him is timely, if not immediate  responses as we are moving through the NVC. I think I will do all of the fee payments myself using the AVR/online system anyway. Sooooo......

Any additional HELPFUL lawyer-assisted experiences going through the NVC anyone can share? Bueller? Bueller? My main question is the difference with the choice of agent procedures.

Every day that goes by is a day closer for all of us!

No one is more invested in your case than you are. No one will ever feel the same urgency as you do to be with your spouse.

If you can read and understand instructions in English and have a relatively simple, no red flags case, I don't see why you couldn't do it on your own.

Pretty much agree with this post. Those lawyers does'nt know a lot more than regular posters here in VJ. Matter of fact some of them probably dont even know the shortcuts provided by some of the most sucessful petitioners in this site.

Not to discredit them or anything because that would be unwise, but the bottom line here is I think majority of us has this certain feel of urgency to get the process going while paid lawyers pretty much collects the check while waiting to go through nomal processing procedures.

You know, it's true what you are saying. It seems like all there is on here about using a lawyer is the negative outlook. I do know someone who used a lawyer to bring his wife over, but she was from PI.

I decided to do this on our own, only because I thought that we could, but in saying that, if we didn't have a straight forward journey, I would definitely gotten an immigration lawyer to do this process.

I don't have any experiences with using a lawyer for our visa journey, but if there is anything I can answer I will do my best!! Good luck!!:dance: (we ALL need that!!)

Congrat's David'sgirl.

And yes, if your case isn't 100% straightforward and you can afford the legal fees, then I'd certainly recommend going with a lawyer.

But just to fill up your name/address/date of birth -- things you'd have to write down and provide to your lawyer anyway? I think not.

Mikey--you can't be a noob. Get on the ball. Read the guides. :)

Yup--once you call NVC and get your case #, speak to an operator and give them your email addresses. I hope we can get through NVC quickly, smoothly in one piece together since our timelines are matched up! :)

Congrats to everyone for their recent NOA2's!!

I have a quick question - we got our case complete on the 20th and as yet the AVR hasn't updated to say that they have forwarded the case to the embassy. I've tried to get through to speak to an operator but as you know the lines are pretty crazy right now.... does the lack of updates on the AVR mean that NVC still have our file - or could they have sent it out already?

Thanks for any advice as ever!

Congrats on the case complete!!! Trust me, if you call the NVC right now all they would be telling you that they don't schedule appointments until the second week of the month and that if you don't hear from them by the third week of the month to give them a call....etc......yada yada yada!!

It was exactly 19 days after case complete that we got our interview email. They won't forward your case (dhl) until you get your interview email. So once you get the email you can go to the DHL website and track your paperwork...Just play with the dates a bit! Ours was forwarded on the 28th of December but because of the holidays I had to back date all the way to the 24th of December to find the papers going out on the 28th! Have fun!!:star:

Q for the pros -

I have paid I-864 fee (AOS) bill online and it shows PAID on line.

I could not print I-864 barcoded cover sheet, when I clicked "print document cover sheet". The pdf is coming as BLANK.

I have read from "VJ Guide" in case of on-line payment, NVC will NOT mail petitioner any barcoded coversheet for I-864.

Any one has this issue before?

What should I do except for waiting for NVC snail mail?
