I've been lurking on these message boards for the past few months and have read, and read, and read everything that has been posted. I do empathize with everyone who has been held up in the process and hope everything works out for all.

I feel fortunate with how things have gone for us so far - no major delays. We built in all these multi month waits into our expectations.

However - that being said - unlike a lot of the folks here who are away from their spouses - I get to spend weeks at a time with my wife since my job allows me to work from any location in the world (once there is high speed internet).

So I spend a week and a half in the office and then head off overseas to stay with the wife for 2-3 weeks and then return to the U.S.

I just thought I'd share my story seeing that I just am using everyone for info and not giving much back. maybe i will stick around after the process to help out the new folks :)

I did that too before I actually started our VJ...but after awhile I saw that everybody was going the same direction I was so I finally jumped in with both feet!!! Glad to have you around!!

I bet your wife is happy you get to travel back and forth to see her. I am very fortunate to beable to get time off to travel back to Egypt. I am wanting to be at the interview to hopefully help my husband through the AP that is pretty common after the interview.... That is the different from coming from a MENA country, after the interview is when the waiting really begins... :crying::crying:

Hmm people...there was been violence in the city my wife is from Hyderabad,India civil unrest due to some factions wanting to divide up the state. My wife lives in the area mentioned in this letter from the dept of state. Think it is worth sending an email to NVC or the consulate to see if we can atleast get a Feb date? Even though they do not have any more dates for Feb or just wait until whenever they schedule since my case is completed already. Ground reality is that there is violence but it isnt total chaos. i am two minds about doing anything at this point. suggestions?

I would say you could try. But i think Febuary is all booked up. And also its pretty hard to get in touch with NVC now that i think there trying to deal with Haiti first right now. On there new voice system you press one if your dealing with a Haiti related case and 2 for non haiti related case then when you press 2 it says there busy and sends you back to the main menu and if you try again. they will tell you try again latter and goodbye. So it looks like there trying to deal with Haiti first.

I know how its like to deal with this. My hubby is in Palestine. and the Jews will go into his town and just take people and question them and shoot gas stuff and everything. the other week they came and they spent the night taking Boys from the ages of 15-25, and it dose not matter if they did anything if someone get mad at you and lies on you, your done for. I was worried the whole night. But thank God. they never even got close to him cuz he never dose anything but work, and never get into fights with anyone. But its very scary having your husband or wife in a country were it is becoming Violent. But even if you dont get a febuary interview, at lest it will be march and it wont be much longer till you have your wife with you.

God bless you and your wife and may you both be protected.

I just read the whole article i would think you should call and see if you can get an faster interview date. If things are getting bad over there you wanna get you wife out before they get worse. This is crazy i also cant wait to be done and get my hubby over here. Things are getting bad around the world, and its scary when you dont have your spouse with you.
