because sometimes...they don't even look at the file for good 2 weeks at NVC maybe even longer...if you get RFE..you sent them what they need...they have to work on the file..when they receive what they needed...same with USCIS.....

@ gpmaan2 do not send anything until they ask for it it will throw you off course so bad but lets start at step 1: once you pay the AOS bill and it shows PAID online you print the cover sheet and send the AOS PACKET and its the same for the IV BILL they will not send you the cover sheet just the forms for the DS-230

@ MQ i have decided to wait for the checklist for missing docs my hubby and i just don't want any more RFE's

Ms. Sheka sorry to hear about the RFE. I hate RFE's I got 2 RFE before one for USCIS and one for NVC.

Don't worry, your case will be there soon!!! I think mine took close to 2 weeks...give or take a day This is the time you use to get all the paperwork together so you will have them when they ask for them!!!

I had my husband fill out the ds-230 while I was waiting and print it out and sign the first page so I would have it by the time they wanted it sent in...

BTW, I just have a quick question when will NVC email the IV fee bill and DS-230 package online? Is this after the AOS packet is received and processed? Or will they automatically send it once the AOS bill and DS3032 is returned to them?

And did your spouse/relative sent the DS230 form directly to NVC? Or did they send it to you guys to double check the documents?

Welcome to the NVC stage of your journey GP!

Once your case gets to the NVC, call the phone number and listen to the AVR to see if your case has been assigned a case number, then talk to a live OP and give them your email address and your SO. You will get the ds-3032 email first to establish the agent for the case. After that you can start to log in on the website and thats where you can see when things are available. After they accept the ds-3032, the AOS payment will be available to pay online.

I think that was the order we did it...

Look at the guide for the NVC, it pretty much spells it out for you!! And use James Shortcut, that is the best way of doing it!!

My spouse sent all his documents and his ds-230 straight to me. It's easier to track it if it is mailed from the US instead of his country. In fact, alot of stuff gets held up in customs or lost completely. Ask MQ about that....

Could someone please help me out with what supporting documents are required for the AOS-package?

I read somewhere the taxtranscripts are enough but I would love it if someone could varify that. (If it's true)

So if they are enough I would only need those,the employment letter and the last 6 months of paystubs?

If not, I would also have to send in tax returns and W2´s?

I feel a little lost already,haha!

Also regarding the Ds-230 packet, did you guys had your spouse/relative complete this form along with the required documents even before you obatian the case # at NVC ? Im looking at your timelines and it looks like most of you have mailed the DS 230 the very next day. Does this mean we only had to attach the barcode provided in the e-mail to another DS-230 form completed by my wife overseas?

I sent in the last 3 years of transcripts, letter of employment and last 6 months paycheck stubs. But, I made copies of the actual 1040s, W2s, and 1099s for my husbands inteview. Only because they may ask for them...

That´s what we are planning on doing aswell,taking the extra documents along to the interview. Along with this years (2009) W2´s, since I'm hoping and praying to have an interview before april.

BTW, approxmately, how long does it take before NVC receives our case? My NOA2 was sent I believe on 01/20/10. I called today ( I know its realy early btw lol) and I was told by the operator it could take up to 90 days? I was like WTH????!!!

True,we sent in forms requesting a ITIN for me to file jointly (I think) so it's taking a little while for them to process that.

I wouldn't say my area of experties is american taxes so I pretty much just go along with what my husband tells me,haha!

I'm trying to stay on top of the immigration-stuff though! With the help of all of you awesome people here on VJ!!
