NVC January 2010 Edition!!

I wanted to ask you guys....is there a way to apply for expedite at NVC?...I know we can do that at USCIS but I am not sure about nvc..I searched and it seems we can apply for it...

BUT...I don't know if its worth it...cuz the process is 15-20 days...if you have everything ready on your side.....so even if somebody gets approved of expedite what is it gonna save you 5-7 days????

I have never heard of this. I know you can apply for an Expedite for your interview. But not for NVC. but then again i may be wrong.

MQ- I got the same message. they received something on the 7th. My status was updated last friday itself. so we both are in the same boat, no updates today either. so hoping next week brings some good news. As christeen said, thurs/friday it should be.

oh yeah one more thing..if they do accept the expedite request? does that continue in the consulate as well? I mean will the consulate also make it quick?

If you could, please update your timeline so we know what your timeframe is to assist you... AND you need to put what country your SO is from, as this makes a BIG difference in the advice for expedite... Thanks

The process will take you about a month if you have everything ready. However, with my experience and even quite a few others. it can be easily be 2 month process since obtaining police certificates takes time, if you have already done that, optimistic case-20 days. also, expedite at nvc is for life/death circumstances as far as i had searched.there's the link

Also, it can take time even if you sent a request via email or even snail mail. expedite might not be worth the time.

That is great that they at least shows that it's there...considering that Monday is a holiday, somebody got assigned to your packet and decided to wait until Tuesday to take a look at it!!

Well that is good!! I have been searching for the past hour for those websites that you had sent to me before!!! I finally found them!!!!

I wanted to find them because I was talking to my husband tonight about Islam and the treatment of women by their husbands *remember that conversation?* and wanted to find it before he went to sleep...LOL didn't make it but I did find the websites!!!

Plus my son is learning about Egypt and Islam in Egypt and he was fifty questioning him!!! So glad he has him to help!!!

mza001 what did they tell you when they said they got your DS-230 on the 7th. I wanna know cuz we sent it at the same time so maybe ill get my log in failed latter tonight or tuesday.

Also yes, Monday is a holiday so i would think call then on wednsday and call and see if you got a case complete.

yea i couldnt believe it myself, so i tried logging in like 8-10 times.

Well, i sent it under checklist response, some call it the false rfe to 31 rochester. on 8th itself, the avr said they got the checklist response on the 7th. I called couple of days ago just to see what was going on and they said they received something in the mail but said to call back in 2 weeks. I am sure you have the same thing just might take a day or two longer if it doesnt happen tonight. it is possible process is a little longer (a day or two) depending on consulate also but that is just my guess if it does take longer.

Yes monday is MLK day.

I'm still waiting to get a case number at the NVC. Called the past 2 nights and our case hasnt forwarded...but mine may bypass the NVC from what other members have said...they said I wont get any case number until after I pay the IV bill that gets sent to me. I was told by the NVC that it normally takes 2-4 weeks to get loaded in their system from the USCIS, but it could take as long as 90 days!
