I went for my interview at the embassy in Cairo 3 weeks ago with my hijab on and everyone was nice, civil, and respectful to me... I didn't experience any of what you said above while I was there....

My interviewer was smiling the whole time... And when she asked me to explain what I meant by that me and my fiance have the same views and asked me to give her an example, I answered: "Well, an example is...my fiance loves that I wear the hijab, and I don't mind celebrating Christmas with his family, I actually contact them to say Merry Christmas!..." She smiled and said: "interesting".

I was chatting with an Egyptian Christian lady right before I was called for my finger prints, and she didn't have a cross necklace... I only knew she was Christian when she said her name...

Also, there were many hijabi ladies who were interviewed before and after me and all were treated nicely (just like everybody else)...

What happened that made you say they treated your fiancee differently?

well, i honestly dont know what goes on in their head and I'd like to think they are doing the best they can for the good of all people. However, I dont think its about relgion, I would think they tend to be harder more often on younger guys with much older fiances. Me and Adam are 2 yrs apart, so no we didnt have to experience what you are dealing with. Maybe they are looking into your relationship with her bcz of the large age gap. Thats just my opinion.

I never really thought of that either in my case I am 12 years older then my husband maybe that is why they didnt keep his passport and i feel we are in for a long AP. But to me age shouldn't matter. We truly love each other and we will have a baby next month. I know having a baby doesnt matter to the embassy but me personally would never have a baby with a man that i didnt truly love.

Well, congrats to you....didnt know you were pregnant! Hopefully things will go well for you and your hubby. But again for the other fella, I was giving him something to think about since he says they were harsh on him and his fiancee. They are much more than 12 yrs apart. No one is saying love doesnt happen, but the Embassy might just look more closely at some of those kinds of relationships. And this next comment isnt to you, but just think about how many men did have a baby with a woman and still left the woman. You have a good heart for your husband, some others might not.

Well i have seen so many people here and they have a huge age gap '' more than even 15 years '' . i have seen so many grandma women and have so many grandchildren and they are with so young Egyptian men and they got their visas a few days later their interviews .

and i have seen so many people here and they don't have age gap '' like me and my fiancee and even like you Tamara and like Adam '' and the embassy gave them a lot of problems to get the visa '' i guess it took you and Adam about 8 months to get the visa .and for me it has been 9 months and still no visa !''

So i guess it does not matter if you have a huge age gap or not .or maybe it depends on the CO .maybe some of the CO don't like to see that .and maybe it does not matter for some of them !

Mohamed

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

Yes Mohamed, it took us 8 months due to the Movement Certificate/Police issue. Each situation is different. The Embassy looks into different things in each situation/couple. Maybe yours isnt age gap, maybe yours isnt Movement Certificate, maybe its something completely different like namecheck or whatever else. Try to think the CO's are doing the best they can for the best of everyone. At the time, I hated the fact that it was taking 8 months due to the Movement Cert, but in the end it was way better for us for several different reasons and one being by the time he got here and did AOS, we had been married for over 2 yrs. So, he received a 10yr GC and we are done with USCIS til Citizenship!!! In my situation it worked out better IMO for a longer AP for us, but I sure didnt see it at the time. Alot of people are praying for you Mohamed and Trina and praying that the CO's make the best decision and everything will happen in the right timing.
