Hiya all...

As a married UK citizen to a US citizen, we submitted my I-130 petition (DCF) to the London Embassy on 10 December 2009 with what I'm sure was absolutely all the required documents. Two weeks later I haven't heard a thing since and I don't think the money for the processing has been debited from our account yet...

Obviously we are aware that these applications all take time, however it would be nice to be able to track our progress! So we have THREE questions if someone would be so kind to assist!!

1 - Is there any way of tracking the progress of our case since we sent off the I-130?

2 - From the submission of the first sets of papers we have sent, what is the 'normal' waiting time to hear our initial papers have been accepted/rejected?

3 - In what shape will we find out if our application has been accepted/rejected?

Thank you all!!

1 & 3. If you two doesn't received any answer yet, you should contact your embassy in London and ask them about the case. Nothing wrong's gonna happened, if u call them.

2. I think it's depends from country to country. Before the submission of my I-130, I called the Bucharest embassy & ask them about the waiting time for the I-130 petition precessing. They told me...the waiting time it's between 3 and 7 working days... But much to my surprise, they approved the petition in just 1 hour....We have had a little interview after we give them the papers and that's it!

P.S: Call immediately the London embassy and ask them about the petition.

Good look

Hi Londonhornet,

We mailed my petition regular first class mail on November 9th, and received an email from the USCIS London Field Office 3 days later saying that the petition was received and filed (on November 12th). Did you supply your email address (or the address of the USC) on the bottom of the first page of the petition? Have you checked your junk email folder to make sure the email isn't in there? I haven't received anything else yet over email or mail, but the processing fee was taken from my account on November 12th.

The confirmation email said that to check what date they are currently processing I-130 petitions, you can visit http://london.usembassy.gov/dhs/uscis/i130filing.html (there's a little box on the right side of the page)-- right now, it is saying that as of December 21st, they are processing petitions filed on November 10th. It hasn't moved very much in past month. On November 10th, it said they were processing petitions received up to November 3rd. On November 23rd, they were processing November 9th. Finally moved again on December 21st, but only by a day, to Nov 10th.

I'm not sure if it's running a bit slower due to the holidays, but I've read that it takes anywhere from 4 to 10 weeks from the date you mail the petition until the date you hear if your I-130 has been approved. I would first check your account again, to see if the money has been debited. If it has, that means they received your package, and I would give it a few more weeks, and just continue to monitor the processing dates on that link above. If the money hasn't been debited, it wouldn't hurt to call at the end of next week, to check up on it and make sure it wasn't lost in the mail. Good luck!

Guys,

I have been worried too, I sent my petition on 1st December. I received a letter to say it's been filed for 10th December, I wonder what is going on as the processing date has been really slow this time around and I wonder if my husband and I will be in America by the end of March as we had hoped.

JHPHI - The good news (I think???) is that the funds have been taken out of our account, but we still havent received anything either via post or email, and we definitely included a Stamped Addressed Envelope as requested!

Taavy - At least you have received some kind of notification that its being processed, that seems positive!!

If the funds have been taken out of your account, surely that means that it has been received and that they'll be working on it as soon as it makes its way to the front of the line-- at least I hope! Another member (not sure of the name) never received a NOA1, so she listed the date they took the money out of her account as the NOA1 in her timeline. Maybe after Jan 4th, the processing times will again speed up. I think the only thing you can do in the meantime is make sure you have all your other documents filled out or gathered, so you can turn the DS-230 and 2001 around quickly once you receive approval of the I-130. The waiting is the hardest part, right?

I could be wrong but I doubt if there's online tracking for DCFs.

You just have to wait for the mail'.

Some consulates have their own visa status tracking system.

Japan did.

I am not sure if UK does, though.

I actually was about to ask this same question but it had been 2 months since I filed however I finally recieved my packet on the 2nd of this month which was the day after the two month mark, longer then what they told us which was 4-6 weeks but i'm pretty sure the embassy takes about 2 weeks off around christmas time not 100% about that though.
