( whatever they might be) If we used your concept, THE MODS would have to verify each members race and work out a "percentage formula" for those of mixed race to determine who can... and can not say what about which groups.

I think I pretty well illustrated to you that what I said was for a knee jerk reaction to show that JAS doesn't like to be pigeon holed into a stereotype as do most other ppl. You have choose to scrutinize and critiquing me, twisting my words to make me sound as if I am racist against other white ppl, as you have said nothing in regard to the real racism that has been posted by JAS.

I never called you a racist, I simply pointed out you used his exact tactic while condemning him as one.

You say you did for effect.... maybe he was doing the same thing in reply to a post about -Blacks taking what he has.

Your comments were not about "all" people being white-trash

But (if I recall correct) neither were his were about "all" black people.... as he spoke of a 'ghetto setting" EATING UP TAX DOLLARS after someone suggested Blacks were taking what was his.

Then followed it up with unkind remarks about our president.

The part that baffles me is; why is "race" this sole sacred area of indignation for some people?

We feel free to take jabs at peoples faith, their place of origin, their level of education, even if their home is a trailer park

but man, let someone touch race and we suddenly are offended that someone might be insulting a "group".

When people's ignorance makes them still think as if they're in the 1950s-1960s segregated America and still scapegoat other races instead of self reflecting on their own racial/social prejudices - unfortunately not much can be done to change their minds.

"I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

I, like Dr. King would hope that my children will have a better, more progressive society to live in when they get older. I would hate to think that the color of their skin or their last name would give cause for people with the same cowardly discriminatory practices as JAS or Danno to treat them any differently than they would a white male. Although I have to agree that the filter of a computer screen probably allows them to say/do things that they wouldn't to someone's face.

I am not usually a fan of any kind of censorship, but if personal attacks are going to be deleted - I would think that racist comments should be too.

To JAS, unless you can prove your ancestors came over on the Mayflower and fought in the Revolutionary War and Civil War, you're not an American.

Oh #######. My ancestors did NOT come over on the Mayflower, but one side did fight in the Revolutionary War. The other side was living in New Orleans when it still belonged to the French and eventually one of them helped found Tulane University. So can I be an American? Please please please?

but that's not what makes me American. what makes me an American is an understanding of the sacrifices my ancestors made to make this country into the great place it was and is, and a willingness to respect them and the things they believed in. not only did they serve their country by fighting in wars, but they also served in government, served in farm and factory, and served their families. they did this with respect for their country, and with respect for their neighbors.

That would go for just about anyone, including immigrants (recent) who become USCs. So I'm curious, since your wife is not American, if she were to become a USC, would you consider her a 'real American' or not?
