Who is "we" exactly? I doubt you can read the OP's mind, or anyone else's. From the OP's situation, seems she is at quite a desperate place; where divorce is, indeed, an option --the only one? not likely, but an option nonetheless. At the end of the day, it is neither your or mine decision what she does with her life.

The only prudent thing to do is get help with her marrige from a professional. NOT YOU. From what she said her husband isnt going to do that. Even if he did, if you read & understand what she says he wont accept the advise. He is controlling everything she does including who she sees ect. What part of that doesnt sink in to your brain? Most of it I would say.
