Unusual RFE

I got an unusual RFE in the mail today. I filed the I-129F using the new form. Yet I got an RFE asking for the same information that persons using the old form were asked to submit. The questions were the new questions placed on the revised form relating to the IMBRA issue. I was under the impression that the new I-129F addressed the questions contained in the RFE sent to persons who had had used the old form. It seems like everyone now has to submit this form whether they use the new form or not.

I guess I should ask whether anyone else who submitted the new form received an RFE requesting the same info that persons using the old i-129F had to submit. If so, then what was the use of producing a revised form with the additional questions and then asking for them to be answered again?

It's happened before. People who have used the new form still got RFEs. I know, it sucks. I guess they're having a hard time to adapt to the IMBRA thing. Just send it back with the same answers you put on the form and good luck.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Hi Trinilad,

Over in the Regional Forums there's a Latin American section and pinned at the top of that forum is a "yardies at home and afarrin'" thread. One of the members; also filing for a K-1 for her Jamaican finance, received an RFE after filing the new form 129-F. She also filed at VSC.

If you have any questions regarding the Jamaican embassy there are a few in that forum that would love to help you.

Michele
