Quick question, going on AOS interview next week. The appointment letter states to bring birth certificates if there are any children - we both have children from previous marriage, but all are over 20 years and not living with us - 1 is married - do I still need to bring the birth cert? Has anyone run across this? thanks

No. you dont need to bring the birth certificates of your children from previous marriage unless you have plan to get them someday. If u have children that u really own both of you, i mean u & your wife together, u can bring that. For instance, my husband have 18 yrs.old kids living here in the US but we didnt bring her birth certificate while me I have a 6 years old son (that im fixin to petition) I bring his birth certificate in our interview.

that is not what I was told.... I was told I HAD to bring them, sister had her filed delayed and almost DENIED because she did not have one of the 3 of hers.... I asked the girl when I went for my interview and she told me that they can deny if they choose if u do not have them..... this is only my experience and my conversations with INS..

May God's Grace be all you will ever need ticker.png

I don't have intention to have them stay with me, they are over 20 years old and livning on their own or sharing apartment w/their mother. The two us don't have children together. If they're over the age, why would I need their birth certificate. I'm USC and wife and I are in middle 50s' -

My interview letter said to bring birth certificates for all children, even those not living with us. My husband has 2 sons over 20 years old. I brought those with me just in case, but never got asked for them.
