underage - 18 in this case

question 3:

It is always possible to reach Jose if he's at work and if he's home, but when he's driving somewhere, or grocery shopping, or anywhere else, should he have his cell phone on at all times just in case something happens, like to his infant Pablo, for example, or any other emergency and he has to be contacted?

let's see if i'll screw up this time

I think one of the two parents (assuming there are two) should be contactable quickly, but not necessarily immediately. I will turn off my cell phone when I am somewhere where they are not allowed- such as some security places, even when I am with my husband, because I know it would only be for 20 minutes or so. If we go toa long movie in the cinema, one of us will put our cell on vibrate so we can answer if the babysitter calls, but we would not answer any other calls.

I don't have any children and I always have my cell phone with me (why wouldn't I? it's an iPhone :)).

Anyway, I can't imagine not being reachable if I had children - even if they were teenagers. But then again, I'm not a parent....

I have one child who is six years old. Yes, I carry my cellphone with me if it's possible. If I'm going to places that prohibited electronic devices, I make sure the school can reach my husband and/or trusted family/friends.

I HAD an underage child. He's 'of age' now ..

For my personal cell - I made sure my phone was on from 3 PM (when he got out of school ) till I got home.

For my business cell - it's on all the time, this century. I tricked out the vibrate mode, though, with this latest model.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Don't have kids, have a cell phone, and I turn it off in movie theaters or other places where it's not allowed or unnapropriate. I believe kids should know how to contact their parents, and parents should know where their kids are at all times but I grew up where we didn't all have cell phones and it was never an issue, bad news travel fast and as long as my mom knew which friend's house I was at she could reach me in case of emergency, and if the emergency was about them, well, should we alert a kid and scare them right away or reach them when we can?

If I end up living someplace dangerous I'll probably consider a phone at all times for my kids though, but I hope I never end up living in a place that requires it.

I keep my cell phone on all the time and set it to vibrate when I'm somewhere where I cannot answer it immediately. Texting works well too. I don't see the need to completely turn off my cell phone. If I can't answer the phone and it was an urgent call from my wife, she'll send me a text.
