pictures for AOS, old or new??

hi all!

our AOS has been pending for a week for final mailing due to my pictures (our bad ). is it necessarily for pictures to be taken for the last say 3 mos or pictures of me last june 09 would be fine? (i have 10 copies spare so am hoping i can use them for the 6 pictures needed considering the 2 copies passport size photographs at walgreens cost $7.99 and we need 3 sets... kinda expensive....

am just taking a chance here by asking vjs opinion/experience b4 spending on that amount... thank you

As long as there are no major changes in your appearance from 06/09 till today, you should be fine sending the photos you already have.

no changes at all but then...this same passport size photos were use for my visa photo....so wonder if it will give us RFE seeing its the same as june 09 photos ...

If you're concerned about using old ones, and about the rip-off price of new ones, consider an online place.

Take a digital picture against a white/off-white wall.

Upload to a free site (I use www.portraitbooth.com)

Modify picture to fit US standards.

Save to your computer

Upload to Walgreens.com & print to store - $0.19 cents for 6 passport photos

We got a bunch of photos for the petition and used the same ones all the way through the AOS process for three people. No problems.

As others have stated...if your appearance hasn't changed in the last 6 months, you should be fine with those passport photos, but 3 sets of photos cost $24, but you're complaining that its 'kinda expensive'? The AOS fee of $1040 is expensive, not the passport photos.

yep for just 2 passport size photos for 8 bucks... expensive !! aos is a looootttt more expensive but kinda have accepted that....so the pictures are more like "on top of it" ..thank you thou

hey i did this...but am not confident enough it would pass to uscis criteria...so..noh... i have lil shadow showing... .... but with correct lighting effects- yes its an economical way to do it yourself.

btw,i do find passport size photo price absurb here. i have so many spares of pp size photos everytime i need some bcos they are inexpensive in my country and some asian and middle east countries ive been....but not US.
