Hello there everyone.

My wife got the RFE for I 693 is missing.

I did not fill out that form because she had the medical examination back in her former country 3 months ago!

Now, she has an appointment at a civil surgeon for medical examination and vaccinations thing. She brought the vaccination report that she took from her former country.

Does this RFE mean trouble ahead? Also she has the biometric appointment tomorrow. Will they tell her tomorrow to come again after the I-693 is sent???

will they delay the process for AOS even longer???

Thanks!

Some have had problem with the Civil Surgeon says "You need a total Exam Again".

This is not true.

Our Civil Surgeon said that to us also but I gave him a copy (Secondary Copy) of Rosies Shots that she got in the Philippines and the I-693 Form said please give her the shots she still needs and fill out the form. If there is a problem with it .. it is my fault and I will fix it as required by DHS.

We sent it in and NO PROBLEM.

If I was you I would go out to USCIS.GOV and print what is required and that if your EXAM is within the one year time frame ...YOU DONT NEED A NEW EXAM.

We almost did that but .. the Civil Surgeon agreed after I said I would take Full responsiblity if we had to come back and get a full exam.

I went home and reread the USCIS.GOV requirement that said NO NEW EXAM and was comfortable that all was fine and dandy.

here is the USCIS.GOV site http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

and here is the STATE WITHIN THAT at the bottom: NOTE the 12 months

The results of the medical examination are generally valid for only 12 months. Applicants should schedule the

_________

medical examination as close as possible to the time they file for adjustment of status, but provide for sufficient time for the performance of laboratory testing or additional testing required under CDC's Technical Instructions.

Hope this help you

Did you submit a copy of the vaccination report with your AOS package? That was sufficient in our case, but that was two years ago.

Hey guys and gals, thanks for the info and the help.

I did not submit the vaccination copies, I thought they had in the database the USCIS once they took her medical exam reports at the JFK airport, the immigration officers. I called the USCIS, and told them that she had the medical exam 3 months ago, and they took at the JFK, and the USCIS idiot said you still need to take the medical exam bla bla :S

But anyways, before all of this, I thought it would be nice to get a wife from overseas, now its pinching me, hah, she is talking every day when im not home to her 4 sisters back in europe, instead of learning the English... :S

Thank you.

Oh man... If she doesn't have many friends in your place yet, it's just normal that she talks to her sisters in Europe. Besides, maybe it's her first time to be away from them.

Are you saying that you married an alien merely because you thought it would be nice to do so?

Not related to the RFE, but she may find speaking in her native language very comforting amidst all the changes.

I know my husband always feels good when he talks to his friends from Jamaica in patois.
