No such promotion appears on their website, besides those are all internet sales only.

I want my fiancee to purchase her ticket at the PAL ticket counter so there is no delay or deny because I purchased it online. This is a must.

I'd be curious to hear what the best rates people have gotten on a one-way from MNL >> LAX, even at regular prices recently.

What about the legend of a RT ticket being cheaper than a One-way ticket?

Has anyone ever been told they are getting a special one-time Immigrant Special Fare?

Thanks, The excitement builds.<!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec-->

<!--coloro:#8B0000--><span style="color:#8B0000"><!--/coloro--><b>YES! PAL has first time immigrant discount. Because I got mine. I flew from Manila to LAX for only $535 all inclusive . ( Phil Travel tax) I just paid the terminal fee of Php750 before I went inside the terminal area.

Here's the real answer for your inquiry.

PAL has first time immigrant discount (one way) but you have to compete for the available slots each month they have open.

As to my case, I am an immigrant, because I am on CR1 visa category. I am not sure if K1 is included.

I called several travel agencies to get the latest available slots for the month of November (the month I flew) that PAL or Hawaiian Air offers. If the dates are full, just ask whatever travel agency you got the lowest fare for a First time immigrant rate to put you on reservation. They will put you on queue. if someone backs out, or didn't confirmed their flight date, they can probably give you that seat. But the chance to get a seat for a certain flight of PAL that you have a first time immigrant discount will surely measure your patience.

My travel agency is directly connected to PAL since its one of PAL's travel agencies. So I just waited 2 days for my reservation to be confirmed. Then I paid the ticket CASH on that travel agency.

So to answer your question... YES! PAL has first time immigrant discount.

I also LOVED their Food!!!</b><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->

What travel agency u used. Please let me know as soon as possible so my wife can look into it ASAP. Thanks.

right now PAL is offering a sales event on tickets. My ticket was $400 cheaper now then in May. Also, Her ticket one way was much cheaper then mine for round trip. Hers was $673 ($951 with taxes) from Butuan to Las Vegas plus another $99 for Las Vegas to Phoenix. My ticket round trip was $908 ($1455 with taxes) plus another $198 for RT between phoenix and Las Vegas. The only downside is the fact I have to transfer our bags between the terminals in Las Vegas. (Next time i will book US Airways. Just wish PAL would use 777 or 747 for Vegas. Get more miles with Vegas, but nicer plane in SFO/LAX legs. Reason why I like SFO so much.) Las Vegas has a lot less layover in Manila though. Goes down from 8 hours to 2 hours.

I am looking for one way to L.A. and we will be staying for couple days before flying out to Florida. I am going to meet my wife in L.A. and them fly out to Florida through southwest.

PAL offers directs flights from manila. If she is flying from manila you can use any airline. If she is connecting in manila, I suggest using PAL, you just change sides from domestic to international, and PAL transfers your luggage.

That price is kinda high for PAL - shop around.

My wife paid a little under $700 - all fees & taxes were included (except the 750p terminal fee). Her flight was from Manila to JFK (NYC) on Cathay Pacific.

She bought the ticket at the Cathay Pacific office in Makati.

No, they do a stopover/plane change in Hong Kong.

The change was pretty simple - my wife went from getting off the plane (from MNL) to the boarding/departure area in less than 10 minutes. There were also people there to guide the passengers but she didn't need it.

HKIA is one of the easiest/most friendly airports to transit through - just about anyone who transit through that airport will agree.

expedia, orbitz, hotwire, priceline, webjet, travelocity, and cheapoair were worse. I tried them all. Manila was around $1,000 US. but adding in butuan, the fare suddenly jumped by $2,000 US or more for an extra leg. the only way I can explain it is the manila to butuan leg is being taken as USD versus being computed as PHP to USD. I expected a $100 to $200 jump, Not a $2000 USD to $3000 USD jump. It is why I booked my flights separately instead of through a booking agency.

Well I rather have my wife buy her ticket their in the Philippines then doing through web site plus some web site don't allow to purchase one way ticket from a another country. By her buy her ticket their the travel tax is included in the price so I only worry for the exit tax of 750 pesos.

in manila or Cebu you have 3 things to take care of:

1) CFO sticker on passport with valid visa

2) airport tax of 750 php (manila and cebu domestic are 200php, and outlying airports are 20php to 30 php)

3) travel tax exit country - 1700 php plus 200php for certificate (first class is 2600 php)

http://www.tieza.com.ph/pages-what-are-the-travel-tax-rates.php

this tax is separate from the airport tax. the counter is at the far left end (south end) as you walk in NAIA international terminal 2.

Please make sure to know. Most airlines and agencies do not collect the travel tax or the airport tax. Some do.

Yes thank for the info. I am well aware about that since I had to pay it once already when going to Hong Kong with my wife for the Honeymoon.
