One thing I discovered about our cable company is they do offer two Russian news channels, but they were both ENGLISH language. It was strange because the Russian anchors would speak in what sounded like British accents, and during field interviews they'd voice over the Russian dialogue. I guess there are enough Russians who speak fluent English in the US to attract an audience or enough Americans who might want to hear the news from a Russian perspective, but it is worthless for Russian-only speakers, .

We get these channels free with our extended channel cable plan but my wife never watches them. I did watch a few times and it's hilarious to hear the pro Russian party line on all news items...as if Putin himself prepared the text to be recited (maybe he did!). Not even an attempt to seem fair-minded...kind of like MSNBC come to think of it. :)

I have always maintained that if they want to live here in the USA, they need to let go of the motherland...and sooner is better than later. My wife has never asked for special treatment around language issues. She does not particularly like Russia from what I can tell, and only wants to go to a Russian grocery store for a few food items. Other then that, we don't do a lot of "Russian stuff" here. No rented movies. No TV. No internet sites. She did bring some books over in Russian and buys Russian magazines at the store occasionally.

My cable company doesn't have any Russian channels. I was wondering if others have any suggestions for watching Russian T.V. in the USA. Can Russian channels be watched through the internet? If yes, what is the website and any suggestions on an easy way to get internet T.V. from the computer screen to the T.V. screen? Also, if there is a way to watch streaming Russian movies, I would be interested in that. No need to mention Netflix, as I know they have a few Russian language movies available there.

Hey I have direct tv, and they offer Russian Channels. The only problem is 2 extra channels is something like 30 extra dollars a month, and then 10 is up to 80 extra dollars a month so I do not think the price is worth it. In all seriousness there are alot of internet websites where you can watch russian channels for free and if your smart you can hook your computer up to your tv or hook a projector up yo your computer so you can watch in on the big spring. Russian t.v. is nice but personally I have more fun watching the tv in englsih. Maby that is because english is my first language.
