A# question

ok, so on our adjustment of status documents, what should I use for the A#?

There is an A number on the 797 NOA form in the same box as my fiancee's name Axxx xxx xxx

But I also read that it is the red number in the lower right section of the K1, underneath the expiration date.

But for us these numbers don't match.....so which is correct?

If you are missing a leading zero (ex. on NOA2 it is A0XXXXXXXX, and on the visa it is just XXXXXXXX), then there shouldn't be any issues - I'd write it with the leading zero. If there are other number discrepancies, you might try calling the (mis)information line or make an infopass appointment to see if you can get a live person to look it up for you and tell you what the correct number is.

The Number on the NOA2 and the red # on the visa are different.

The # beside your Name near the top of the NOA2 is your A#.

The red # on your visa is the Non-immigrant visa #

Nik's A number is on the left side of his visa under the annotation section. (not the red number)
