Our 90 day window for filing our I-751 starts ticking on Jan 9th, 2010 but we received what I would call a reminder letter but it was on the rude side. We haven't had to deal with them for almost two years now and that part has been nice. I noticed for whatever reasons that our home address was incorrect and missing the space number. I called them and they tell me I have to write a letter to the local office or request in INFO pass. You got to be kidding me! More than likely it was just an 'oops' on the missing number but just having to go through a dog a pony show for this is truly unbelievable. It reminds me of everything that is wrong with our government.

Things could be worse but for something so simple they make it so hard. I can hardly wait to send in our I-751 so the games can begin all over again.

Good luck to all,

Charlie

I am not sure if that really matters. Did your conditional green card arrive at the correct address? When you send off your I-751, just make sure your address is typed correctly. I received my "reminder" notice from them at my old address, and so have many other people.

Good luck with your upcoming "exciting" events!!! ;)

We are in the process of filling out the removal of conditions petition. We've moved a couple of times since my wife's 2 year card was issued and we never updated our address with the government. I assumed that we didn't need to and that the 10 year green card would simply be mailed to whatever address was placed on the petition to remove conditions. Is this the case or do we need to do more?

Thanks

I would notify them and I think you can do this online at USCIS.gov

every time you move the gc holder is required to change his address with uscis as well as the person that is sponsoring the immigrant with the affidavit. this can be done on uscis webpage online.

Address changes and updates can't be done on the phone. The folks on the information line are only contractors who give scripted replies, not USCIS employees.

You could file the AR-11 online if you want to make sure the address is correct (and/or mail that form to the Kentuckey address). Or make an InfoPass appointment and do it face to face. Either manner will insure that the address is correct and that the next green card will be delivered without issue. And you have a paper trail.

when we did ROC, we did not notice a wrong address (they transposed the 2 and the 5 in our address) until we were at the biometrics appt. In fact, they were the one that caught it. I called in the correction. After that, I stilled received a RFE telling me I lived in another state. I called in and they said I had to respond to the RFE just because I received one. I had to resend all my documents PLUS notarized letters proving I lived in my state for the previous 3 years. I got the 10 year card shortly afterward.
