Most of this script was written 60 to 200 years after the death of Jesus, most were illiterate and could just tell stories. Jews claim many of the sayings of Jesus were already written down 200 years before the time of Jesus, and many so-called miracle workers were around at the time before science was even thought of. Some claim in the Hebrew text was no word for bothers and sisters so cousins were are included. Wife tells me in Spanish no words to distinguish between fingers and toes, something like either hand or foot fingers.

Jews said they are God's chosen people, history kind of says that statement got them into a lot of trouble, was kicked off a bible site for stating that Jesus was a Jew. No Roman record of a census being called in Bethlehem, but it there was, would be for Roman Citizens, the Jews were just animals as far as the Romans were concerned.

Practically all ancient civilizations believed in some kind of God or many gods. Egyptians believed in life after death. Admittedly, I have problems that God created a man, gave him a naughty Eve that conned Adam to eat from the forbidden tree, and the only reconciliation this god would accept, was to send his only begotten son to die for us. Which just about sums up the entire concept of Christianity. Scholars over the years have argued on this subject and basically are getting nowhere with it. Perhaps meeting God or the Son of God in person would make a difference. But those that have claimed this are also certifiably nuts. Maybe you have to be nuts first before experiencing this.

The universe is just way too well engineered to be an accident, perhaps why I chose science as opposed to politics for my profession, find it far more peaceful to work with the truth than constant lies.

In regards to religion, exactly what is the truth?

But Auckland Catholic Diocese spokeswoman Lyndsay Freer said the billboard implied the Virgin Mary and Joseph had just had sex and was inappropriate, disrespectful and offensive to Christians.

I wonder why it would be seen as disrespectful to Christians? I am Christian and I don't take offense to the thought of 2 married people having sex.

But I do think the billboard is probably the wrong venue to open conversation. Satire for the sake of offering change is often lost when put on a billboard.
