My husband had his interview for AOS last April and they ended it by saying he was "approved" as long as his FBI background check came through clear. They told us it could take up to a year or longer (basically they don't know). We still haven't received any news from them and when I type in his case number on the USCIS site, it doesn't even show he has had an interview, it only shows they have received his fingerprints (which are about to expire *sigh*)! I know there is a form you can file asking for status on the case but I can't find it plus I wanted to know if an interview is required to do this. Has anybody else filed this form? Thanks for your help!

My step-daughter has the same problem with the name check. I have e-mailed the FBI, my congressman and senator, and most recently sent a letter to the district office where the interview was held. Mostly I am doing this just so I can say I've tried. My congressman's office did reply to my e-mail (not Senator Obama's office however) and said they called USCIS and they just told them the namecheck was still pending.

Don't know how much good a infopass appt would do but if you have the time and energy it is worth a shot I would guess.

I have seen where a few people have gotten approved recently after waiting for the namecheck, I think it's all in the luck of the draw.

None of this waiting makes any sense to me, but so what else is new with this process?? :crying::lol:

Dave

Thanks to all for the guidance and support and speedy processing to all!

Yes, get your congressman involved. Call his offices if he doesn't respond to email. They have people in their offices that specialize in these matters, use them

All done for the next 10 years...

Now more then ever..."and Miles to go before I sleep and miles to go before I sleep"
