Hi I was reading the KEV-1 instructions to assemble the package for my fiance interview and I read this :

Divorce decrees must be obtained at the local registrar’s office (RAGS). Court decrees terminating marriage are not acceptable.

So does this mean if I get my divorce decree from the court records will not be acceptable at the interview? I remember using my divorce decree that I got from the court to apply for the form I-129F

thanks in advance.

if you are USC, is good to have the STAMPED decree in foreign fiance's hand on interview day.

If you are not USC, sorry, no idea.

Hopefully some Ukraine folk will chime in soon?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

This refers to Ukrainian divorce decrees and means an "entered" judgement officially recorded. If you have a US divorce decree, officially entered and stamped (or copy thereof which shows the stamp) you are fine

Yes. It needs to be a photocopy of the final decree with the ENTRY stamp showing it was duly entered and recorded. Thsi si the official document, the one they give you or the lawyer gives you is just your file copy. The divorce is not official until it is recorded by the court clerk.

I did not use a certified copy, just a regular photocopy I got at the court clerks office for $5. The court entry stamp was visible on the copy.
