Ok, here's an interesting one -

We are getting the initial application together. So far for Evidence of Relationship we have:

passport of foreign fiance showing stamp at San Fran airport where US fiance was living at the time.

passport of both of us showing exact same stamps for trip to Mexico.

The foreign fiance's passport pages are printouts of scans - Q1 is it essential that they be actual photocopies of the pages, or will the print outs of the scans suffice?

flight itinaries for trip to Mexico.

we have photos from when we met with both of us in them and family etc and easily recognisable places and so on but they have no date stamp actually in the picture or anything else clearly indicating the time and date. However those things are definitly in the meta-info of each file.

Question 2 is - will the meta-data of the photofiles count and will they be willing to look at that kind of thing? If we send the photos in on a CD will we have to indicate where the time and date is etc?

I don't know of any other way of doing it.

Automatic date stamps on fotos are nice but not necessary. We all know that one can make that date read any date you want. It looks nice and professional, though. I like to write the date, place and event with metallic permanent pens on each evidence foto, and it gives it a personal touch. Fotos are secondary evidence. It is your passport, plane tix and hotel receipts and such that place you together in a given location, so don't sweat it, you will be fine. It's also nice to get boat, bus, air travel tix and receipts that have both your names on them Cheers and happy LDR.

Thanks for the speedy replies!!

how about Q1? Will printed scans of the passport pages be ok or do they need to be scanned and posted to US fiance?

Excellent

passport of both of us showing exact same stamps for trip to Mexico.

Still Excellent

That is all I submitted; printouts of scans of the passport. All was approved.

flight itinaries for trip to Mexico.

Useless, you need boarding tickets or luggage stamps.

we have photos from when we met with both of us in them and family etc and easily recognisable places and so on but they have no date stamp actually in the picture or anything else clearly indicating the time and date. However those things are definitly in the meta-info of each file.

Not a problem. Are they taken in front of well know places? If not, include a copy of each of yours passport photo page, so they can place the face with the name.

Question 2 is - will the meta-data of the photofiles count and will they be willing to look at that kind of thing? If we send the photos in on a CD will we have to indicate where the time and date is etc?

electronic media is not accepted. You need to print out real photos, just like in the old days.

I don't know of any other way of doing it.

I inserted our photos onto a blank Word document page and included a description of who/when/where and then printed the real photo and labeled the back of that, inserted it into a baggie and stapled that to a blank page which then was paper clipped to the Word doc page.
