Good Morning!!!

As some of you know, last year at this time i was refused entrance to the U.S. due to lack of ties etc. and spent xmas alone.

This year I'm in Chicago :)

They let me in!!

I was worried as i currently don't have a job and sure enough thats why they pulled us into secondary. However thanks to the multitudes of information on vj. i brought my entire 3 inch stack of papers regarding the whole process including the original I129f packet copy, all correspondence with uscis, nvc, dos. Copy of my packet 3 which was sent back last week, and all my ties to Canada: lease, utility bills etc.

Secondary was packed with a full room. We got a really nice guy though, his partner/coworker kept asking when my interview was and i had to keep saying i don't have a date yet but i told him i had my medical on January 18th.

They asked why i never tried in the last year to cross, i said well, i didn't have enough proof of ties, and my lawyer said it was not a good idea until i got my approval. The cbp officer shook his head and said thats not true. you are allowed to go back and forth to visit.

So after going through all my papers etc, i get called up and the one guy (who recognized David from other trips to see me) says he's sorry but i don't have enough proof for him to let me in etc etc. i was almost crushed. I said but i'm doing things the legal way, i'm one step from my visa, i'd really like to see my future in-laws for xmas! My future mother in law wants to make my dress and she can't do that without sizing me!

Then, he laughs and smiles and says he's just kidding with me and that it's all good! OMG way to make me go through emotions! lol

5 Mins later i was in the U.S!!! Windsor had almost no snow, and i woke up to almost a foot in Chicago so i get my white xmas too!!

I'm so happy and grateful for all the wonderful advise help and support from my vj family.

Merry Christmas to all of you and I hope you all have a wonderful New Year!

Hugs from a very happy Kim and David in Chicago!

Hi Kimbear,

Congrats on getting to the US for the holidays! Glad that all went well for you there, especially crossing while your k1 case is pending.

Enjoy your holidays here with your loved ones here in the USA (Chicago), and may all your visits and POE crossings be as successful as this one!

Ant

P.S. David and Kim...Cute name combination for a couple!..Lol...Reminds me of a 'real life couple' (though not a fiance/married couple) combination too!
