There's an Imax near us...I'm planning to go Monday or Tuesday night when it is less crowded.

Saw it tonight at the Imax by Disneyland- and yes it was dayum crowded. Not so sure I'm into IMAX really. Living in 3d is great once you get used to it, but I kind of think some of the detail is actually lost. That might be because I have no depth perception and blurry vision in my left eye though. I'm going to see it again later this week in 2D because it was amazing.

Oh man...sorry that you can't see well in your left eye. It can't be corrected with contacts?

I have the strongest prescription glasses I can wear without causing dizziness and I still can't read street signs with that eye unless I'm ten feet away. This year is the first time I've ever even worn glasses and its because I failed my vision test when I went to get my motorcycle license. So I rarely even wear them let alone trying contacts. To be honest I never realized how bad my eye is until this last year, but the optomitrist said laser surgery could fix it, but eh. I don't think so.

I'd go for the laser...if it's your only hope. I'd go crazy without depth perception.

Saw it over the weekend as I thought, what better way to cure jetlag than a movie.. I thought I would fall a sleep but the movie is absolutely phenomenal. Not once was I bored in over 3 hours.

3D is also freagin amazing. The freagin 11:30am session was packed, with people sitting in the isles.

Yikes - fire code violations!

Good movie - but I always like sci-fi

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

I thought who is going to be at Tysons Corner at 11:30am to watch a movie. Fail!

Definitely a movie for all ages and interests. Furthermore, I also thought this is going to be one of those over-hyped films that fails to deliver. Second Fail!

Avatar is showing in our home theaters right now, but if we want to see it in 3D, nearest location is at the Mall of America, bit closer than the Navy Pier in Chicago, ticket price is ten bucks. Is it worth the drive to see it in 3D? (430 miles round trip). Only five blocks away from our local USCIS field office, but we are kind of done with them.

I saw it last night (3D) with the husband and my mudduh. We went to a theater in central Phoenix, and it wasn't crowded at all.

The special effects really are spectacular and definitely worth seeing. However, I have to say, the story is basically a rehash of about 20 other movies, it's entirely predictable, and the dialogue is laughably awful. I know that most special effects-heavy movies have a standard, predictable plotline, but this movie was supposed to be so revolutionary, I was silly enough to expect something more imaginative. I'm sure I'm not the only viewer to note its striking similarities to Dances with Wolves. Now that I think of it, it's basically Dances with Wolves + Independence Day + Star Trek (pick your movie).

Jon thought it was ridiculous and guffawed throughout. Afterward, he said, "James Cameron is such a c*nt."
