Hi All,

Happily received a letter today with an interview date set for Sept. 6 and have a couple of questions. On the checklist it says to bring a completed Affidavit of Support (I-864) and letter from my current employer. I submitted both with our I-485 petition. My question is this, does the USCIS want an updated version of these documents or can I just bring copies of the notarized I-864 and employer letter that were submitted with the original I-485 application. I realize it says on the notice-(unless already submitted) but just wondering what others have done. Don't want to be caught short at the interview.

Thanks, Evan

I don't know if you are required to bring updates, but it seems to me that you might want to bring evidence to answer any questions they might have if there have been substantial changes.

We got to our interview and found that we had forgotten some important documents (like our joint bank account statement, for example), but I guess the overall picture was convincing. We were told we passed, but then we're still held up 15 months later by FBI namecheck. It's hard to predict whether the lack of a document or piece of evidence will trip you up, but it's better for your peace of mind to take extra.

Good luck.

Just had my interview today, and the pay stubs my wife submitted with the affadavit of support were from 2005. They asked for newer ones. So if your original affadavit of support is a bit out of date, it'd be a good idea to take your last three pay stubs and a recent letter from your employer.

Hope this helps.
