How about a blank page when you hit reply?

I like it the way it is now. If people are following the thread of conversation, there is no need to see more than the most recent quote IMO.

I have to agree with this. In many cases, if the thread is flowing and on topic, you don't necessarily need to quote anything.

Especially if all you're going to say is "I agree" or " "

Even with a 1 quote limit it is silly seeing ####### like this http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...=233875&hl= time and time again... it would be nice if rather than the OP Quoted it just said OP...

Maybe you should poll the membership rather than letting a few people decide.

Single quotes are pretty standard on message boards AFAIK.

A decision was already made based upon the complaints of a few people. I don't think that a poll will really yield any useful information. Between the numerous sock puppet accounts that some people have, the results could easily be skewed.

I agree that sometimes people take it too far with the quoting and simply press the reply button not thinking about the wall of text that they are putting up. But in many circumstances, without being able to include multiple quotes, it is hard to maintain the context of the conversation. If this really is about saving space and all that, then why not limit signature files? So many people have the huge pics and glittery timelines. It has the same effect, it eats up page space.

Better than changing it back just because a few people protest loudly.

I agree that old way was bad when some members weren't using their own discretion on how many quotes to keep in their reply, but the single quote is not a good alternative. Hopefully, there's another solution.

I agree with doing this also. I have the signatures turned off for this reason-so many of them are enormous. No need for that in my opinion-if you want to post a ton of pictures, post them on your profile page.

Thats your opinion. I think the wrong decision was taking the action in the first place.

That's my opinion about what? Which action? I'm so confused! What are we talking about?

Seriously though, I agree it shouldn't have been changed so quickly without member feedback. Personally, I'm happy with the change. I don't understand why it would be hard to follow a conversation this way. It's so much cleaner. I still say a poll would be a good idea.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I like the single quote thing, it stops people who have no clue what's going on joining in and creating chaos. This way, if you want to respond, you actually have to read the thread...ok, well, it doesn't exactly do that, but I do like it :thumbs::thumbs:

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .
