what I mean is she doesn't have any records of immunizations, I guess she didn't think she needed to keep records like that, so she will have to have the doctor do a test to see which immunizations she has already had. I'm thinking 1 week but if anyone has experience, then that would give me an idea of how long it will take to get the results of the test.

I'm wondering how long does it take to get the results of that test.

Sorry, what is an anti body test? You mean the vaccines? The TB test? The results of the test are sent to the Embassy. If there's a problem with your health St. Lukes will let you know right away.

Good luck.

with most vaccinations, they will just give them again if you dont have proof. I guess it depends on the vaccine though. I didnt know they could do tests for that.

I suppose if a person doesn't know then they would just give you all those vaccines again, but that is crazy, but there is a test that you can take and after the test, there is a piece of paper that has many numbers on it and each number is for a different antibody that is in your body, so it should show measles, and mumps and all that other stuff, so they look at those numbers and you just get the shots for whatever is missing. That piece of paper is your proof that you had all those shots or your body has somehow developed immunity to a disease on it's own.

It cost extra money to do the test, probably $150 to $250 extra, but it's worth it not to have any shots you don't have to have.

I guess nobody on here knows about that, they must just get all the shots. My last girl after doing the test was told she didn't need any shots at all.

For some reason people in the Philippines don't seem to keep records of the shots they had before, or the typhoons wiped out all they owned.

My last girl was in another country, that is why I don't know the timing for the Philippines, the Philippines seems to be a little different than the other countries.

good to know...but i suppose if you are already paying over 200 for the medical, you might as well make it worth it....even though some of the shots really suck to get. The antibody test kinda sounds like what I had for allergies.

I wonder if the OP is referring to Blood-based antibody detection tests for tuberculosis (TB). The standard TB test used at St. Lukes is the sputum-smear test and takes two months.

I don't think you need the antibodies test. I didn't bring a record of my vaccines during the medical because I can't find mine which is probably buried somewhere in our new house. Anyways, they will interview your fiancee regarding the vaccines and would rule out the ones that she would be too old to get. They were just very particular about the Varicella vaccine and if you can't show a record or a scar when you've had contracted the disease earlier, they will give it to you. That's what they did to me.

During my medical last week, I had my vaccination records with me. The doctor who interviewed me didn't even ask about my vaccination records. She just told me the shots that I will be given.

I guess nobody knows about the test. But I know. At least any new people will see this question and know that you can ask for an antibodies test if you have no record of immunizations to show the doctor.

If you go to your medical exam and you don't know which shots you've already had, St. Luke's Extension Clinic (SLEC) is going to give you the shots again. The shots are included in the cost of the exam. However, SLEC is not going to perform an antibodies test on you as part of your medical exam.

If you had the antibodies test done privately, you might be able to avoid a shot or two at SLEC...just show them the results.

Good luck with your medical exam and your interview!
