The worst gift I ever recieved was a wok, from my husband....

he became my ex-husband soon after!!!

Another 'worst gift' was a land deed for a metre on the moon!!! :o

Hehehe, hey I have an acre of land on "IO" that I bought when the Moon Landings Real Estate company was in business. I bought an acre on the moon each for my brother and my Dad - wasn't their only gift, mind you, but we all thought it was pretty cute. I wanted property on IO as I have always been fascinated by volcanoes and I figured the chances of having a volcano on my acre on IO were pretty high :). Doubt I'll be retiring there - or on the value of that acre either, hehehehe! Still, I love the idea.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I haven't received a Christmas present from my husband in 2 years... he says it is because it is too hard to keep it from me because I am the one in charge of the banking etc and I will see when he has spent money :P he also thinks that a present has to cost a lot of money but I keep telling him that it doesn't have to be expensive, just something he has specially picked out for me...

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

None for myself, but my Dad once bought Mom a snow shovel for Christmas. It was a pretty cold Christmas that year. :D Two weeks later Mom got her first dishwasher (this was about 25 years ago, and we lived on a farm in the middle of nowhere, so getting a dishwasher was a BIG deal).

A friend of mine once got his (now ex-) wife a Swiffer. To this day he asks us "What's wrong with that? It was useful!" They were divorced by the next Christmas. :bonk:

Aww, that's sad, but I can understand his dilemma.

I've gotten a few. A shirt that was about 7 sizes too small for me, obviously made for a 11 year old girl; a pair of earrings that even a hooker with bad taste would think it was too bright/big/ugly are two that come to mind.
