hahahaha...maybe he/she gave you the wrong gift?

Well, I thought that at first, except he referred to me by name more than once in the card. Ah, well. I gave him a thank you note anyway.

I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt...hehe...

I got a shot-gun. Seriously. Our first x-mas together. He bought me a .22. He's lucky I didn't use it on him. Nothing says hill-billy red-neck x-mas than a shotgun, carrying case, cleaning supplies and bullets.

I have a picture around here somewhere with a real forced smile at 5am, beautifully manicured nails and a shot gun. . . . . . . .

I think that's a great gift :)

So he got you a .22 and a shotgun? What a great husband! Nice picture too, by the way.

I have a shotgun just like that one. Love it. New England Firearms - Pardner model. My first shotgun too! So what kind of .22 do you have? Or do you have the model where you switch barrels between a .410 gauge shotgun and a .22 cal. rifle? Does it have two barrels that you have to switch out or do you have another gun too?

Funny that you've now grown to like it, isn't it? I bet you never would've thought that sitting there posing for that picture!

I was so excited by the awesome hillbilly redneck x-mas that I forgot to post my best.. er, um, worst Christmas gift ever -

I got an ammo can.

Seriously, my parents were pretty broke one year so they bought me an (empty) ammo can from Big Lots. I still have that thing though, and it's full of ammo now, so maybe it wasn't the worst after all.

Last year my wife got me nothing for Christmas. Nothing. Yep, that's probably the worst gift ever. She claims that her presence was my present, but I still think she could've at least offered up some goods or services to go along with that nothingness.

Still nothing under the tree this year. We have a whole week though so we'll see how that develops. *fingers crossed for steak and ####### certificate*

Property tax bill came in this week, like clockwork, didn't even say Merry Christmas, but failure to pay in time would result in first 1% interest per month then failure to pay, we will auction off your home and toss you on the street to collect payment.

Listened to a WPR call in program about people that were recently laid off, sure could use that money to buy food and pay their utility bills, was extremely depressing. I had one Christmas like that when my company had a hostile takeover and was laid off. Couldn't wait until Christmas was over so I could start looking for another job. At least with income taxes, if you don't earn anything, don't have to pay, but come hell or high water, that property tax always has to be paid if you want to keep your home. Shelter is guaranteed by our US Constitution, but sure doesn't apply to this God awful tax, and can't even claim a deduction from it if you have a house full of kids.

Just wonder why Americans put up with this, only noticeable service I receive for all that money is weekly garbage pickup, about a half a bag full, could even burn that but against the city ordinance to do so. And that bill comes in one week before Christmas. Merry Christmas.

Not sure about worst Christmas gift... maybe the ugly socks with cats on them I seem to get every year from my mom.

Worst gift ever was a blender from my ex-husband for my birthday. There's a reason it's faux pas to get a woman a domestic gift!

when i was 10 my great-aunt gave me a sweatshirt with endangered animals and a fetus that said "which one of these isn't protected?"

shut up!?! (I actually said that out loud as I read it)

Isn't that horrible? Although it wasn't just me. Everyone in the family was a lucky recipient. We got a good laugh though since she wasn't actually present.
