So.. I received my NOA1 on December 10th and I'm trying to figure out just how quick this will all go down. We should be a pretty easy case, no previous marriages, kids, etc... We're both 27, and I provided tons of pictures and hotel/flight/etc stubs..

We'd like to get married on August 21st here in the US.. In fact, I just put a deposit down on the venue. Did I pull the trigger too early? Is there any risk that this might not happen? What about the usual time difference between NOA2 and the actual interview date? I'm all prepped to fly her to St. Luke's as soon as we receive the NOA2 (maybe even next day)..

Is there any emergency expedition fee I can pay the embassy to bump up her interview? Any guidance or words of reassurance would be greatly appreciated..

It's hard to say. you could be approved in 3 months or 8 months. It all depends on how quick they go through your case. One thing to consider...once she gets her visa, she has 6 months or until her medical expires if I read it correctly to use it. As far as expediting the case...the only thing that you could do is get it expedited on the grounds of a military deployment. Other than that, you have to wait until at least 5 months before really pushing them on it. Hopefully the venue that you booked with will allow you to change dates if available just in case. I think i saw on here most K-1s getting approved within the 5 months. Hopefully the USEM is decent at the time too.

Well.. that wasn't the no worries response that I was hoping for.. :-)

Yeah I guess you're right.. 5 months puts me at May 10th if things are aligned.. I was really counting on her flying out here June 12th to get familiar with the area and meet my folks.. Even if it's a 6 months then that's June 10th.. 8 months is August 10th (I start to sweat bullets)

I wish I could hop in a time machine and see how this is all going to go down..

When you look at your timeline did you notice this: "Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between February 5, 2010 and February 12, 2010*. "

This system makes this estimate based on current processing times from other VJ Members who have gone before you in the process.

It's no promise but it is indicating that NOA2 for K-1s are currently taking about 2 months on average. This can change but when you consider that my case was 7 months & 5 days from NOA1 to Wife's POE on a CR-1 I would say you shouldn't start worrying too much until say April comes around if you don't have the NOA2 yet.

Bob this is the type of post that makes me want to reach out and give you a hug.. OK, yes so maybe I'll be very fortunate and they'll adjudicate my I129F between Feb 5 & Feb 12.. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and keep on praying.. I have enough stress with trying to plan the wedding, don't need any more for possible visa delays.. Maybe the VSC employees will be treated very well by Santa and they'll come back from break re-energized and ready to process..

I'm still thinking I might have pulled the trigger a bit early.. Not a lot of lee-way here.. I wonder if I call the venue if I can move it out 30 days to September.. What do most people do about a wedding? Just a quickie in Vegas?

You dont need to start worrying until about march. I know when i first put my stuff in in november it said march...it just depends on the time of the year. wait until january and i think it will start going faster. As far as the wedding...i think a lot of people do civil just to satisfy the requirement ane then do something more formal later. It is hard to plan a wedding in 90 days.

Well.. I just got thrown another curveball.. She needs to attend her PRC Nursing oath ceremony the last week of August.. So I have officially booked October 23rd as our wedding day.. I can't forsee any reason why she wouldn't have her visa by September at the absolute drop dead latest.. (i hope - knock on wood)
