Yup, I encourage you to visit my hometown, Vigan, Ilocos Sur, fka Ciudad Fernandina, with remnants of old Spain!

Lovely picture. I want to see one of those Vigan houses!

Batanes is another place I want to see.

Hard to beat a week at The Plantation Bay Resort on Mactan Island. Tain't cheap tho.

Plantation Bay is over rated and over expensive. Plus, the online room reviews are NOT favorable. They charge you just to tour the grounds!

Bohol and Dumaguete City are highly recommended.

I stayed there 10 days and LOVED it. I care less what the online reviews are.

This is my review. Where else can you get a 2 hectare enclosed crystal clear salt water lagoon you can walk 20 feet from your lanai and dive into.

No sharks naman!!

I stayed at the Shangrila also for a couple days. I'll take PBR anytime.

I've only been to Cebu, Manila, Leyte and Samar. Manila, I've only seen the area around the airport. I got to see quite a bit of the city in Cebu, and I got a lot of time in Tacloban. Leyte is very nice but it's coastline is very rocky so the "beach life" isn't much there. Samar, on the other hand..wow. Very pretty place and great people!!

Thanks for your suggestions and pics. I only stayed on Cebu about two days and we stayed in the Marco Polo in cebu city. We went to Mactan just for one day and visited Tambuli resort, had lunch there and walked around a bit. In October it seemed like the resorts there were mostly empty. Staff members were coming up to us asking us if we wanted to do things like boat trips, diving, etc. We felt like we were almost the only ones there and a lady kept trying to sell us her custom seashell necklaces.

I would have liked to seen more of Cebu but we just didn't have the time. I have some good ideas now for future trips.. thanks :)
