we stayed before in plantation bay cebu 2008, then bohol tropics resort in bohol too... we liked the food and the people there are friendly... we went to boracay last 2004 when it wasnt that busy....it was okay but my hubby came back last year its too crowded now...

we discovered a very secluded place 3 hours from manila...the name is palm beach resort in laiya, batangas...it was so peaceful there and very relaxing and most of all CHEAP! hehe...

Boracay is nice but a bit touristy for me I really like the, (off the trodden path) places in Leyte and Cebu. I feel Visayan’s are very open and friendly.

I'm the wife of an American Soldier;

I'm the hope that lives within him after storm clouded days.

The freedom from war that gives wings to his heart,

May they reach across the miles and bind our hearts together

against all that we must face in this world.

what i noticed in Cebu and Bohol, they are nice to both foreigners and filipinos... when I went to Boracay, they were like following the foreigners as if they are like their heroes..

one thing i remembered was me and my then bf now hubby (we are both pinoys) were at this restaurant in bora for about 10-15mins already and nobody was helping us but when this british couple came, a waiter arrived within a minute and helped them...hehehe

but that was 2004 hehe...

Up north isn't as bad as you say during elections. I've been in Abra an they say its the worst place for a foreigner to be. They didn't mess with me at all. Its each other they like to kill during elections.
