I got the I-797, and on it states that it should take about 4 weeks for the nvc to get the papers and to call if I dont hear. After 5 weeks I called, and they said they dont have it on file, and that it can take up to 90 days. I called after a month and a half still nothing, and wait. just called again yesterday after almost 3 months, still nothing, wait. In the mean time, the other people that my fiance knows have all gotten thier notice for interview. I am getting worried, the approval period ends jan. 21. Has this happened to anyone else. Don't know what to do.

Have you contacted the embassy to check?

K-1's normally just filter through NVC - so they do not track it on the tracking system(phone).

We did get a letter from NVC stating they had it and were passing it on.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

no I haven't. It was my understanding that the NVC would contact me when they sent it to the embassy
