So to continue on a discussion that was touched upon on another thread, what "wonder" does your new SO find so interesting or amazing?
Nothing really - she was/is clueful about how the rest of the world operates.

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.

Ahhh, finally someone like me who didn't marry through a time machine. :D
No kidding. I married a woman, not a child. Probably explains the lack of huge age difference between us (:

Although....I will say - if I had a time machine, I would use it to go back and check out babes through the ages (:

Actually Alla can not believe our cell phone plan. "You mean Mobile to Mobile is No Limit on minutes?" "Even if in a different city?" Yes dear, Welcome to America. I don't know what others mean by Russian cell phone plans are better than here?

And if you think you MUST stick to your 2 year agreement, you have another thing coming. Yes you must stick to the same provider, but I've always changed plans on the fly before the 2 years ran out. Never a problem.

I wouldn't exactly use the cell phone situation in America as an example of modern miracles. We're well behind most of the rest of the world in this regard. Relative to Europe, America is a freakin' joke.

We just had a bunch of kids beat up a cop at a basketball game while their parents cheered.
I'd cheer too.

Yes, everyone should be able to have lightning-fast free porn. And that's why we're now spending 8 Billion dollars to expand high-speed access to rural areas. Only in America!
HAHAHAHAHA. Slim keeps it real. I love it.

Perception of American people can change the closer you live to the heart of a major metropolitan area. - That's what we call "keepin it real."

My perception of the American people is that they are idiots. I don't see that perception changing, no matter where I live.

It baffles me that I meet so many intelligent people from all around the U.S. - and yet we're governed by this buffoonery of such proportions.

I'll always stick to it, "A person is smart. People are stupid."

Interesting.. I live in Moscow at the moment. It's more than 'urban'. During my visits to the US and in my everyday life I met people from Texas, MA (Boston), New York and New Jersey. None of them were neither stupid, nor bad.

They were friendly, intelligent, joking. Most of those with whom I was communicating - were people who achieved certain goals in life, people who look into the future and know how to get there changing 'Today'.

May be I was lucky. But I am going to stay that way.

Oh please...

Five years ago when I was spending a lot of time in Russia I had Beeline service where mobile to mobile on their network was free. There were several plans to choose from.

I don't have statistics to back it up, but in my experience, Russian cell-phone service and plans beat American cell-phone service hands down. The only reason that American cell-phone service sometimes seems better is that we are willing to spend a lot more on a plan. Even then, most Russian plans have free mobile to mobile on one carrier.

Russians don't want to have a monthly bill but would rather pre-pay for usage. That's because they can usually only afford to spend $20/month on a cellphone instead of $120 for an unlimited data plan. You can't get diddily squat for $20/month in America.

So most Russians have a pre-pay by the minute plan. Therefore, They are always a little rushed on the phone and conversations are more like, "Hi, I'll be there at 7. Okay, Bye." Instead of, "Hello, how are you?... Doing okay. What's up? Well, I've kinda got a headache. Oh, I'm sorry. It's been a long day at work. What time were you planning on coming over today? Oh, how does 7 sound? Pretty good. I might be a little late, but I'll try...."

Also, Russians don't pay for incoming calls. Ever. It's illegal to charge for them.

In short, the morons have been able to out-breed the intelligent imo. Rather than "the strong surviving" as nature would normally have it, the moron-leaders do everything they can to propogate the morons since they will continue to elect them. Sadly, I think we're on a sinking ship at this point.
