PAPILLION, Nebraska - The Nebraska Humane Society is seeking a new home for two small dogs that police say fed on their owner's body after he killed himself.

Police in the Omaha suburb of Papillion found the pugs named Harry and Sally late last week. Lt. Chris Whitted said Wednesday an autopsy showed the man was dead for two weeks of a self-inflicted gunshot before his body was found.

Humane Society spokesman Mark Langan says he can't verify the dogs had fed on the body, but he says it would be normal behavior for dogs left without food or water for two weeks

Same thing happened to a neighbor of mine. He had a stroke and his dogs ate him. I was single with 2 blabs at the time.

All my neighbors were saying for me to keep LOTS of dog food arround!!!

You know what. There's a charity organization that helps shelter dogs, and cats. They get funding by donors who give them about $18/month. Heck, there's even a commercial about them.

There's another commercial that asks for money. Less than $1/day for 50 cents, you will be able to help a child who is hungry.

Thinking about the two charities, I find it messed up to think of helping a dog and/or cat rather than helping a human.

My bro has a pug and that thing gets on my nerves when he visits..... the way it sounds like it choking all the time, but at least it craps outside which is more than my friend;s yorkie can seem to manage.

Well you really can't blame the dogs.

Will be kinda weird for the next owners to take them, but really they don't deserve to be put down because their previous owner didn't have enough sense to either let them go before shooting himself, find them a new home before shooting himself, or calling 911 seconds before he shot himself so at least he'd be found (and therefore dogs taken care of) sooner.
