I filed our I-129F in September with Vermont. The approved petition leaves NVC for Guangzhou by December 19. I'm surprised the paper is moving so quickly. Of course, we're prepared for a long processing time in Guangzhou.

I want to give credit to this great web site and everyone who posts information and guidance. It has helped us tremendously. Thank you!!

Yeah, our file left NVC on Dec 10...I am curious what the standard waiting time to P3 is now...

dstone - after the casefile leaves NVC, you'll want to start calling the DOS hotline, get a human, ask for status.

Some K-1 casefiles are not sent via DHL, they are only sent via SAFEFILE. It varies, there's not hard/fast rule for which to pick SAFEFILE ONLY - but ..

If that casefile is sent out 'SAFEFILE ONLY' then you'll get more speed - as the 'dead zone time' waiting in the warehouse is gone (usually 60 to 120 days ) . If DHL is involved, then expect a wait. DHL ship fast, sure, but there's a 'dead zone' for warehouse activities - GUZ Staffers pick up casefiles in the warehouse on a FIFO inventory basis. There's rumour, though, that even that lag time is lessened, as GUZ had got 'caught up' recently.

Then, if you want more speed, there's a P3 trick to do - see http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/GUZ_P3_Shortcut Keep calling DOS, ask for status - when you hear 'P3 sent' then she can do this stuff on my wiki page.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Mine left on the 14th, I call DOS and they say my electronic is loaded but the paper has to arrive first. Hopefully the "dead zone" won't be too long. Can only wait and see..

Garfield -

suggest you call all next week, see if any 'P3 sent' status. That's the only way you'll know for sure if SafeFile was used. But - should be some slowdown at GUZ for the holidays.

Everything continues to move so rapidly! Just 26 days from NVC to P3 receipt ... and that's over the Christmas holidays. I'm flying to chilly Beijing Saturday to help my fiance with the forms.
