You can usually find a history of the jobs your applied for on those sites. That should help you narrow it down. Good luck! :star:

I think they're having technical difficulties, the page wont load now for me to check my profile.

I don't think I did apply to this job, I think they just found my resume posted. Which is good, it means my resume is written well enough to catch someone's attention I suppose! :D

Just as a caution....

There are "companies" who crawl the new and updated resumes at Monster, Careerbuilder, etc.

There are three replies that I receive regularly. One offers an "I.T. Help Desk $18/hour!" position. It's actually a cheesy "school" on the north side of Indy trying to get students. I spent $25 in gas and wasted 3 hours of my day to discover that one.

The second I receive often (3 in the past 24 hours) is from an insurance company trying to get new agents. I haven't figured out how my IT/Computer skills make me an "ideal candidate" for a job selling life insurance. Note how I'm addressed....

Hello $name;

I have reviewed your resume from Careerbuilder.com, and I compliment you on your qualifications! You have exhibited an excellent history of success. I would like the opportunity to discuss a career with my firm that you may find interesting. Please allow me to share some details with you.

This is a professional sales position in Crawfordsville Indiana area with the Western-Southern Life, part of the Western & Southern Financial Group, a 118 year old, $37 billion financial services company headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. We are a Fortune 500 Company that has consistently earned outstanding ratings from the major financial ratings services - Standard & Poor's AA+ (second-highest of 21 ratings) for Very Strong financial security characteristics, Fitch's AA+ (second-highest of 24 ratings) for Very Strong insurer financial strength, and A.M. Best's A++ (Superior-highest of 16 ratings) for financial strength, operating performance and market profile.

We offer an extensive, 2-year training program focused on helping you to develop your professional practice. The person we select will receive fully compensated professional development, marketing support to build a foundation for their practice, and a structured introduction and proven activity management system. We are also proud to offer our associates laptop and technology support, outstanding benefits including medical, dental, pension and 401-k plans, and an opportunity for accelerated advancement into management. We are very proud to have been named, for 2003 and 2004, the "#1 Private Business in Ohio" by Inside Business Magazine.

For more information about Western-Southern and this opportunity, please feel free to visit our website at www.WesternSouthernLife.com.

I would like to share more information with you and answer any questions you have. Please contact me as soon as possible to arrange a confidential interview. When you contact me please provide your phone number and email address so we can connect.

Here's the 3rd one I receive frequently:

*************************************************************

"We are experiencing tremendous growth in our 85 year history and you could be a part of it!

We are a subsidiary of AON corporation. Our company works hand in hand with careerbuilders.com. We are getting ready to expand operations in your area.

After reviewing your resume, several of your qualifications really stood out to me and prompted this email.

If selected, we offer an expense paid training program, 13 weeks of on-the-job training, an established customer base, and a complete family benefit program with potential bonuses of up to 40k a year in management!

For more information go to www.aon.com, or go to msn.com and insert our stock symbol (AOC).

For a consideration please contact Marty Jordan @ 317-435-XXXX

Enthusiastically,

Marty Jordan

Sub-Regional Manager

EOE-MF"

Moral of this post: I would recommend calling the company and asking for more details first.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

thanks Cian, but it wasn't an email they actually phoned me. I have recieved a very similar email as to yours, which I did not respond to. I'm not at all interested in selling insurance either ;)

I was finally able to check my Careerbuilder profile, and for some reason it says I have not applied for any jobs! I know I applied for at least 3 or 4 yesterday, I wonder why they're not showing? But it says that my resume has been viewed 3 times by employers.

*shrug*

Guess I won't know til I get there. Its only 20 minutes away, so no big.

Best of luck with the interview..

side note.. My father.. after retirement. decided he wanted to go back to work.. .. He works in personnel intellegence... and it wasnt until Bush got elected that the positions finally opened up... .. Clinton closed positions left and right while he was in office... anyhow.. .. he spent close to 2 yrs before elections. applying.. filling aps... etc.. .. over qualified is all he was told. pshaaaa... The day after the elections.... .. he was contacted .. from THREE... different companies... govmt agencies.. .. that he has never ever applied for. .. offered.. and even they flew him out .. for interviews... .. shazammmm... he landed his dream job... post retirement.. and never even applied..

so all i got to say is.. .. ya just never know... .. someone might have refered. or .. someone might have seen your resume.. ..

GOOD LUCK
