My husband's RFE stated he needed to have a full medical. He went to Dr Bee Sun Lu, who charged $150. That was fine with me for 2 reasons: she's located between my home & job (very close) and I called her at 10:45 or so and had the appointment at noon. She's eager to get the results back to us this week before going out of town.

I also called around today and also got mixed information. Some wanted to do a new TB skin test and others wanted to charge $185 to simply sign the form.

I found one doctor whom I will go to:

# Dr. Mariano Caceres, Irvington Clinic

5310B Irvington Boulevard, Houston, TX 77009

(713) 691-4747

She only charges $50 . . . let's see how long I have to wait for before I give feedback.

From all the stories that I have read, I think my experience was rather good.

Irvington Clinic is not the most glamerous clinic in Houston, but who cares when the doctor will sign the paper for $50 and you wait only a mere few minutes.

I was short one shot which cost me $75 extra, but the staff were all really professional and friendly. Yes, I will recommend this place for sure. They understand what needs to be done and waiting time is kept down to a minimum:

We just left Dr. Keshwami office and what a joke!

They stated $85.00 for an exam. My husband entered on a K-1visa and doesn't need another exam. I showed them the instructions and then they said "do you have his vaccination record". I showed her that then she said it will be $85.00 plus $150.00 for another MMHR shot. So the cost went up to $235.00

Does he really have to have another MMHR shot?

Dr. Shaeffer in Humble will not do transcription only and wanted $250.00

You might want to try calling them if they do transcription only. It's a small office and although we had to drive a little ways - we got to save a couple hundred bucks from what Dr. Shaeffer's office quoted me. Some of the CS i've called wanted to charge me $500! :wow:

All in all we paid $124 ($120 full medical exam plus $4 for vaccinations )

$50.00 you got off very cheaply, we paid $345 today at the Irvington Clinic, but its done and all that counts.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."
