Timeline

Just wondering how long should a biometrics appointment take and what all does the appointment consist of?

Sent I-129F August 21, 2004

NOA-1 August 24, 2004

NOA-2 September 2, 2004

Recieved phone confirmation of <!--WORD2URL-01--><!--END WORD2URL-01-->NVC<!--WORD2URL-02--><!--END WORD2URL-02--> approval September 23, 2004

Waiting on har copy of <!--WORD2URL-01--><!--END WORD2URL-01-->NVC<!--WORD2URL-02--><!--END WORD2URL-02--> approval and receipt of packet at consulate

Called State Dept. after not hearing anything since Sept. 23: Packet reached the consulate and was kicked back for a secondary security clearance probably do to her type of employment - Waiting for clearance and for superpacket to be sent.

I filled for AOS at the very end of december and it took about 1 month for me to recieve my letter to say go to biometrics which was mid feb.

Passport Recieved Back --- 18th October 2005

Flying home to be with my sweety --- 24th October 2005

Arrived in JFK POE was easy took 30 mins finally with my sweety

Went to Brooklyn SSA and applied for ssn told approx 14 days --- 07th November 2005

Got SSN married Dec 14th 2005

Applied for EAD/AOS recieved NOA 31st Dec 2005

Mid Jan RFE recieved FOR AOS

RFE info recieved at Chicago --- 31st Jan 2006

Biometrics --- 10 Feb 2006

EAD Recieved --- 16 June 2006

RFE AOS --- 29 June 2006

RFE AOS replied and recieved by USCIS --- 19 July 2006

AOS Touched --- 21,22 July 2006

AOS Approved ---- 08/03/06

Welcome to America Letter ---- 08/07/06

No I already have an appointment, I'm just wondering how long the visit will take and what exactly they do. Its because I have something else to do that day and if the biometrics takes a long time I will plan to dedicate the whole day to that.

It really depends on time of your appointment and the particular center. My wife's was at 11:30 am, and it took her about 30 mintues from arriving to leaving.

Others have stated that they waited longer than 2hours.

Removal of Conditions (I-751)

August 16/08: VSC received I-751

August 22/08: check cashed (certainly did not waste any time)

September 11/08: Received NOA 1

September 15/08: Rec'd Biometrics Appointment Letter

October 02/08: Biometrics Completed

March 04/09: File transferred to CSC

June 01/09: Letter stating Petition Approved and Card Production ordered

July 12/09: Card Production ordered e-mail

July 13/09: Received card in the mail

AOS

March 27/06: Sent I-485

March 31/06: NOA 1

April 4/06: Rec'd NOA 1

April 5&6/06: Touched

May 4/06: Rec'd Biometrics Appointment Letter

May 23/06: Biometrics Appointment

May 26/06: Touched

July 22/06: Rec'd Appointment for Interview

Sept 12/06: Interview
