alright,

so i always thought we would send in the original paket, get our noa1, noa2 and we then would have to send more documents to the nvc.

then the embassy here is gonna get everything, i will have to send some more papers to them, then get the inviataion to the interview (take certain documents to the embassy)---the end.

but now our attorny said there is only gonna be one huge paket....

i am really really confused.

I hope somebody can explain this to me ? (i have read the vj cr1 guide, but....oh well, i am so confused!)

thank you :star:

Are you talking about both the K3 and CR-1?

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

If you only send form I-130 for the CR1 visa, the USCIS will approve your petition and send it to the NVC for processing, that's when you'll send the rest of the documents. Once completed, the NVC will make an appointment with the embassy and then you'll receive your appointment letter/package with instructions. When you get your visa and enter the US, you will get your green card in the mail.

But if you file both, the I-130 & I-129F for a K3 visa, the USCIS will approve your petition, send it to the NVC so they can assign a case number and then they will send your package to the embassy so they can tell you what documents to bring to the interview. The NVC will not process your documents, they will only assign you a case number. After you get your visa, you will have to file for AOS here in the US in order to get your green card.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
