Okay, we already had our K1 interview and got a BLUE SLIP, additional items that were requested was more information on correspondence. (We are not married yet) I need to know if having my will changed (with her name on it) and getting a life insurance policy (with Qian as the only beneficiary) is a good idea??? I realize that it is not correspondence and these documents would be dated when they were started, which is after the interview. Thus, I am thinking this would show more commitment (Is this craze).

Help please, is this a good idea or bad one?

If they are asking for correspondence then no, a life insurance policy is not that.

You will need emails, phone records, chats, snail mail letters... correspondence, proof you have kept in touch over the process. Adding someone to your insurance or will proves nothing to them.

exactly...give them only what they ask for. You will need to print up chat logs, e-mails, and send copies of phone bills. Anything that shows that your relationship is genuine.

Only give them what they ask for,,,"information on correspondence". How ever the 2 of you communicate, show that you communicated very much, and that both of you have the "ability" to talk to each other. Logs of emails, logs of phone records, etc. My girl and I talk with Yahoo Messenger, using headsets/mics, webcams, and typing at the same time. I use a program, "Captura", that with save a photo of what is on the screen with the click of the mouse. Send the saved screen shot to photos, and print. This screen shot will have a photo of each of us using webcams, and typing at the same time. I printed a couple of these for each month. Best of Luck, Bob...

I think the OP's trouble is that he lived with his fiancee for several months recently, during which their "correspondence" was direct and not anything recorded. Is it wrong to suggest that the two of you write some letters? I guess this suggests falsifying dates, so probably not good. Just try to find every scrap of paper that you can between the two of you.

I think it is critical that we all make a point of taking the time to ensure that we are corresponding in written form just as much as we are Skyping, ect. We can not give the embassy any reason to doubt the legitimacy of our relationships. Good luck dude!
