Been there 3 times and still have not tried it. I think I would need to be extremely drunk to even think about eating the stuff.

I tried it, its not bad, I wont go out of my way to buy it here or anything, if you don't want to eat it straight out of the shell try balut adobo, it will give you an idea of what it taste like. try anything once, twice if you like it, then go for it!

I ate it....sober. It was not too bad. To me it tasted just like a hard boiled chicken egg but with a much different texture. I can't say I would eat it again. But it was something I can say I have done.

My Husband never tried balut and never would. He thinks it's gross, lol. Can't blame him coz I don't eat balut either and I don't have the guts to even try one .

My hubby never tried to eat BALUT.. he told me.. whatever happen he will never attemp to eat BALUT.. its yucckky for him hahaha...

and also DURIAN he don't like the TASTE hehehe...

My husband liked it the first time he tried it back in PI, he said it tasted like a chicken's egg. He also asked me to buy some balut eggs while we were out shopping in a Fil supermarket.

My husband did try it.. He liked the juice and eat the egg yolk, swallowed the chick and chewed the white stuff. Period.

Balut is only eaten because of the lack of food in PI. People who find their chickens eggs in later stages of development won't throw them away as an American would. It's all in the way one is raised. When you are younger eating balut sure beats going to bed hungry.

Poeple end up "loving it". It's all mental.

For me I'll wait a month or so and let the chicken hatch and mature and make adobo.

I'm and never have been starving tho and can wait.

Sad but lots in PI can't.

Believe me when I say you'll love eating balut if you are hungry and starving.
