He needs to file a I-130 Petition for alien relative. If he is in the USA or only temporarily in the Philippines he will have to file this with the Chicago locked box, but can do a direct filing at the Philippines Embassy if he can prove he has permission to reside there. Such as I have a permanent residence here in Australia so I can file with the Sydney Consulate. He needs to go to this website for all the info on it http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis to find the page on i-130 petitions just do a search. And this site will be of use for filing through the Embassy in Manila http://manila.usembassy.gov/

Hope that helps, I am new to all this myself and just about to file the i-130 myself.

Best wishes!

hi guys... my friend needs help... he g0t married in the philippines and he likes to know how to file a petition for his wife and step s0n which is 6 years old ( for immigrant visa).... Thanks

He will need to file a K-3/K-2 or CR-1/IR-1 petition. The guides to do so are below........Have him read carefully and follow the directions. I did and my wife is here now because of this site and the people who make it happen (we were a K-1).

Oh Oh! Someone will squawk about referring to the guides even though I did the guides for all the processes related to the K-1 process and had absolutely no problems.

Do look at the guides for a start and then look at information at the USCIS site. There is a link to it in the guides section.

Good luck
