Hi everyone,

I had a interview at Charlotte,NC and everything went good here are the details...

I went to pick my husband at work around 9:30 am.. We reached the office around 10:10am or so. my interview was at 10:30am..

We checked in and submitted my form to the lady and then waited until 11:30 for my name to be called...looks like there were around 5 -6 ppl who were there for the Citizenship interview but looks like none of them were there based on marriage cause they were alone and had no significant other...

I was called in around 11:30am and i had to take a oath to the tell the truth..

She asked me to give her my green card, Drivers licencse and passport and then she asked to read a sentence that said

Who can Vote.and told me to write.. only citizens can vote.

Then she asked 7 question yeah i got one wrong...and then we went through the application.. looked like she knewthe application thoroughly cause while she was doing other things like preparing my picture forme to sign she was going through the application...

She asked me some questions as to when was the last time i went out of the country and she looked in the passport for the date it was stamped... and asked if i am still married to the same person... and where does my husband live...

and then she recommended my application for approval.. she gave me notice that she has approved my application and she is going to give it to her supervisor for final approval... She also asked me where my husband was and I told her that he was sitting in the waiting room and then she wanted to meet him.. when she met him she asked him whether we are still married and asked for his drivers licence so that she could verify that he had the same address listed or what...

I had to wait in the waiting room until the decision was made and then she came out and handed the Letter for my naturalization ceremony... which is going to be on Jan 6 2010 at 12:30 pm and told me to be there...

I am so close being done with them...

Thanks,

Karen

Congratulations! This is the first time I have heard of them actually asking to see someone's spouse. Very interesting :) . Enjoy your ceremony - it is definitely special.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Congratulations. and Yes kathryn41, that is weird but no really because at my AOS Interview the interviwer had to saperate me and my spouse and to ask my wife some questions and that was weird too. who knows depends at the IO. some of them gives a hard time and some let it go.

Hi Karenros,

Congratulations on passing the interview and thanks for sharing about that experience here on VJ.

Odd though, that in your situation that they asked your husband for his driver's license..Oh well, glad you/he passed there too!

Good luck with the rest of your immigration journey and good luck with your oath ceremony in Jaunary too!

(lol..on the bright side, there won't be any 'snowstorms' in Charlotte, NC for your oath....2 inches of snow and the city shuts down there, like last year..lol...)
