from K3 visa to AOS

hello..my daughter and i came here in the US with a K3 visa and K4 visa for my daughter. I went to a USCIS office to file for an Adjustment of Status. they gave me the forms to file, including the instructions. but im having a hard time about the payment. Is the I-485 form filing will costs me a $1000 for each of us? and do still have to pay if i file for a work permit? please give me any information regarding the payment for filing an adjustment of my status. thank you

The cost to file the I-485 is $1,010 for you ($930 for filing plus $80 for biometrics). For your daughter, it is $600 if she is under 14 years old and files concurrently with you. If she is over 14, then it is $930 plus the $80. Also, your daughter must have an I-130 filed for her. If this was not done at the same time as yours, it can be filed along with the I-485, put will cost another $355.

You can file for the EAD at the same time as the I-485 for no extra charge.

One question, when were you married? If your GC is issued prior to your second anniversary, then they will issue you a conditional GC, valid for 2 yrs and you will have to file to remove conditions (more paperwork; more money). If the GC is issued after your 2nd anniversary, then a 10 yr GC will be issued (no need to remove conditions in 2 yrs).
