I am seeking info from anyone who has done a courthouse wedding in the colorado springs before.

-how long does it take to get a copy of the marriage certificate? as I need that to file for AOS correct?

-how much does it cost?

thanks for any info people can provide.

April 1, 2010 - AOS, EAD, AP package sent

April 7, 2010 - Package received

April 14, 2010 - NOA's for AOS, EAD and AP

May 27, 2010 - Biometrics Taken

June 17, 2010 - Interview letter received

July 23, 2010 - Interview date

July 23, 2010 - approved

May 17, 2012 - I751 filed

I obtained my marriage license at the Colorado Springs courthouse and then had my ceremony in Denver. The minister filled out the bottom portion of the marriage license and then I went to the courthouse the next day. I presented the marriage license/marriage certificate and left 10 minutes later with the original with official seal and numerous certified copies. The copies were a small charge, cant remember how much. The process is simple. Best wishes to you.

This is the way to proceed -- carry the signed license yourself, and order copies (at least 3).

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Sounds reasonably easy which is nice.

I did the same thing Tsup2 did...its very easy and fast don't worry!! We got 3 copy of our marriage licence right the way plus the original that we received in the mail about 2 weeks after our wedding!

09.26.2008: Petition Sent to California Service Center by UPS

10.01.2008: NOA1

11.12.2008: NOA2

11.17.2008: NVC Received Our Case

11.24.2008: Consulate Received Our Case

12.29.2008: Medical Exam at 8.15 am / PASSED

12.30.2008: INTERVIEW AT 10.00 A.M. / VISA IN HAND!

01.23.2009: POE

02.21.2009: Wedding

04.16.2009: AOS Package Sent To Chicago by UPS

04.21.2009: NOA1

05.14.2009: Biometrics Appointment and Touch for AOS and EAD

06.01.2009: EAD Card Ordered and AP Approved

08.22.2009: INTERVIEW AT 12.30 P.M. / APPROVED!

We were married in Jefferson County, but I imagine the procedures are fairly similar in other areas of the state. The license was issued to us in about 5 minutes and cost $30. We were married by an ordained minister and had him send the license in to the county recorder since we left for our honeymoon the next day. It took about a week to get back to us. So if speed is an issue, do as the others suggested and bring it down on your own. Certified copies were really cheap, I believe we paid $1.50 per copy.

Congrats on the upcoming marriage by the way! The husband and I are planning a move to the springs in the near future, its a great place to be!
