Really annoys me when Jesus is used as an ethnic mascot.

It annoys me more that so-called love-all Christians would have a fit over a dark-skinned and likely more melanin-accurate icon.

Keyword there is "so-called". Obviously for many around the world, religion is more about tradition than actually reading and following the beliefs of the religion. I think Scott has it right too, they want Jesus to be the light skinned mascot. And others want Jesus to be their own mascot in their skin tone. This is more an issue of nationality pride, tradition, and ignorance than anything to do with real beliefs of Christianity.

Yep. So many things carried out in the name of religion would of course never have happened IF the offenders would actually have acted out the philosophies and teachings they supposedly had faith in.

Even without the nativity issue, it's craziness that they have an operation called "White Christmas" pertaining to people.

I am certain that at some point Jesus was "lightened" to make him and the story more relatable to the Anglo masses... Kinda like Michael Jackson...

Y'shua was Jewish. He never converted to Christianity. He was born in Israel so I suspect he was dark complected like the people of that region. Personally, I don't care what colour he was. His blood was red like anyone else's but unlike everyone else He bled and died willingly for me.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

i'm not sure which is funnier. the people in this town being pissed that baby jesus isn't 'whiter' or people in this thread being pissed about a local gov't backed anti illegal immigration campaign in this same area having a CODE name 'white christmas'.....the campaign ends on Christmas day & Italians aren't exactly 'white'.
