After two months of delays because of being unemployed, I was able to find work, unfortunately it doesn't start until after the holidays. We want to get her are soon as possible. Does she NEED pay stubs for the interview? Or can I send the affidavit of support, letter of employment, 2008 tax return (Will it matter if it's a 2008 tax return and not 2009 since I didn't file the 2009 by the interview date?) and the letter of employment.

If I have to wait for a pay stub, then we won't be able to have the interview until February or later.

What I want to do... will this work...

My job starts January 11, I want to schedule the interview for that week or the next week. I won't have Pay stubs until after February. I will have the employer give me a letter saying I start work on this date, will make an estimated this much a year, or what my hourly pay rate is and hours worked per week and send it to her before I begin work, so it arrives there on time.

Will the consulate have issues if the letter says I started working only a week before the interview?

You need something to verify you have CURRENT employment. That means NOW, today, the day of the interview. If your employer will give you a "letter of employment" that should be fine. Paystubs, themselves are optional, you need to prove employment, nt that you get paid by check.

Your 2008 tax return will be fine.
