Montreal interview times

My 3 children and I have our interview in Montreal for December 18th at 8:30. I heard it is first come first serve and I was wondering what time we should be there to line up so we can get in and out as quick as possible. I am nervous about going with all 3 kids and want to be in and out as quickly as possible. Thanks for the help.

Doors open at 7:30 - if you got there at 7 that would be plenty early enough I would imagine.

My interview was a month ago and I got in line at 6:45am, I was 2nd in line. By about 7 there was 8 or so other couples, but that was a really busy K-1 day.

When we were there last May we arrived just after 7 a.m. and there were 3 already waiting. By 7:30 it was up to 10. We were the first to interview once inside and were out by 9:15 or so. By the time we left, the waiting room was packed. I would definitely recommend going earlier.

And I was there at 6.55am and I was the first one, people started showing after 7am....

But if you are with kids, make sure they wear something really warm! The door doesn't open until 7.30-7.40...

I would recommend getting there early. Like 6:30 if you can. I don't know how old your kids are though. It is going to be lousy weather.

Make friends. There is a coffee shop on the immediate corner that opens at 6:30. Warm and dry. We made friends with those around us and took turns getting coffee, washroom and warm.

i was there at 6:40 am and a couple was already there i was second in line, after that alot of people showed up. I was first interviewed and got out around 9/915.

I think between 6:45 and 7:00 is a good time to arrive. I got there at about 6:55 and I was the second one in line, but the first one interviewed and I was back at my hotel before 9:00. The line seemed to get really long between 7:15-7:30, so I'd definitely advise getting in line earlier than that.

So that is 3 people in this thread (at least) that weren't first in line but they were interviewed first. So these other people lining up must have been there for some other type of visa - so the size of the line might not really indicate how long you will have to wait?

Actually, the person who was ahead of Holliday was interviewing for the same kind of visa (CR1). I was third in line that day (right behind Holliday) and have no clue why they didn't call the other person back first. They did call him back for his paperwork first. It was a little strange, but then again, not nearly as strange as forgetting us in the waiting room for almost four hours! Talk about doing interviews out of order. Oh look at that, I'm laughing about it now. I guess the therapy worked!

Make sure you bring warm clothes because it's supposed to be -15 C in the next few days here in Montréal... Good luck at the interview.

When we got there at around 7am, we were the fourth ones in line with the first three there for K-1s. Between 7am and 7:30, many more people showed up, but after we were all let in, it was only the first four of us in line and one other guy on the "immigrant" side. The rest of the people were on the other side for other visa types. It seemed like a slow day to me for the immigrant (and K visas) people.

I was there at 6:30 a.m. - the first one in line and was the first one put through, which helped me get out around 11 a.m. or so.
